The NEW Coach if ...

I think we need some one who has had no involvement with the club in any way , shape or form

No Folkes ,Gentle or Georgallis

We need new ideas , new vision and someone who will put the personalities in their place

We have the players to win the comp,we need a coach who selects players in their right position and not reward mediocrity, then we would have little to [This word has been automatically removed] about.

This thread is ridicous , lose a few games and the zoo wants to sack the coach….

Let's not forget who made this club what it is , before sheens we were a basket case ...

For sheens to be de stabilized we would have to miss the finals at least 2 years in a row , and even then the board would have to have a good think about who they would replace him with .

Bellamy is a myth , his origin record speaks volumes …. That and the also delete the cheating years from your thinking ..... And he has very little to boast about .

In a recent interview , Matt king said that smith and slater were the driving force behind the storm culture , he wasn't intentionally trying to detract from Bellamy , but he certainly did shed some light

Everyone has a use by date Rambo. If we can turf a player in his prime like Gibbo, Sheens shouldn't be off limits either.

Sheens missed the finals four years straight in 06-09… Where was the guillotine then?

I don't disagree , difference with Gibbo is that there was reasonable viable replacements , and before people jump on me , it is fact that , Gibbs was told that if he stayed next he would likely be bench player ….. That has now panned out , and he would be on the bench behind woods and Galloway , we all know Gibbs is better player then that .

Your right about 06-09 and as I recall in 09 they gave him a one year extension for season 2010 and told him that of we didn't make the finals he would not be there for 2011\. Wind the clock forward and he got a 4yr deal to stop him from heading to penrith .

What all this highlights to me is that long contracts , are corrosive to the drive and shirt term ambition of individuals

Steve Folkes.

he's been here and he made a massively positive difference.

Furthermore, we don't need the club to be rebuilt, 95% of our roster consists of guys aged between 23-27 years old, their peak years.

We need someone who can come in, shake the boys up and improve their performances. Folkes can and has done that.

Sheens would have to stay on at the club in some compacity so as to ensure everyone else is happy and we don't have a mass revolt, because he's in the position now where he could leave and take a fair chunk of our best talent with him, which we would avoid if he stayed as coaching director etc.

Wouldn't have to pay his contract out either.

Let him go and coach the NSW blues just to keep him in the coaching game, which he seems so intent on doing.

To be honest, I think he'd flourish in that environment and it would be the greatest thing for NSW moving forward.

Really 95%. Hmm they must have put the wrong ages on their profiles.

May not be 95%, but we're around 80% <27

Siro - 19
Tedesco - 19
Koro - 20
Woods - 21
BMM - 21
Lawrence - 23
Humble - 23
Moltzen - 23
Grant - 23
Ayshford - 24
Blair - 26
Moors - 26
Reddy - 26
Benji - 27
Ryan - 27
Galloway - 27
Farah - 28
Fulton - 28
Heighno - 29

Then there's a few older players - Utai, Bell, Cashy

Given that our three brightest prospects are 19 & 20, we've got a fairly young squad. At least we're not full of 5 year old has beens, or never weres, like Parra - Chris Hicks, Paul Whatuira, Carl Webb, Chris Walker etc

We need a new coach ASAP, has to be from outside the club. I would be going for a younger guy rather than a Folkes or anyone else of that vintage. Matt Parish, Jim Dymock. Nathan Brown and Jason Taylor are a few names that come to mind.

We need a coach that will challenge the players and demand results and a coach that is willing to ruffle a few feathers of our so called super stars.

For those who are happy with Sheens thats okay, but be prepared for much the same next year and beyond. You dont go anywhere when you stand still

Exactly. Einstein's definition of insanity - "Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results".

So many athletes speak about 'when the right time to retire is' and most of them wish they could retire on a high rather than being dropped. If Sheens waits much longer he'll be added to the infamous list of NRL coaches given the flick. He seems like a guy who always holds his head high and I can't imagine he'd cope too well at being dumped.

The Life after Sheens will have too many back-stabers and will lack support from Sponsors/Board… We will need to have a sacraficial goat before we find a suitable option that will be allowed to take control of this team.

Once we appoint some monkey and kick them out, then I would bring in a neutral personality like Rick Stone or Steve Kearney and place them alongside an old head like Michael Hagan who is a great tactition...

To get rid of Marshall and Farah ?? To rephrase John Mac 'You can't be serious'.
With a friends like these, you don't need enemies :crazy

Yep, I'd take him. Been QLD assistant the last few years. Don't know what he does the rest of the year?

I think Dymock has the makings of a good coach in him - sure couldn't have us tearing less of our hair out than Sheens does.

yep, well said happy. it's a shame there isn't many quality coaches on the market.

This season Cleary dropped Jennings, Kearney dropped Sandow, Hasler dropped Hodkinson and now Price has dropped Soward. Give me someone who will do this!

ok so you would be happy alex if he drops benji then….i could be wrong but i think benji would have a dummy spit and leave
