The Number 5 Jersey

When is Beau due back?

so when Beau gets back we are going to have soooo many backs!
just on the wings we have
Brown
Utai
Tuqiri &
Ryan

so who will get the number 5 jersey! obviously Lote will keep the 2, but what about the 5.
Beau has had some GREAT games for the Tigers, he has also made some mistakes, hes had off days. but every footballer makes mistakes and has bad days!

There all on about the same level for me. Each have their weaknesses and their strengths. I mean Utai is great in attack, but his defence is sloppy and he isnt great under the highball (something I think Ayshford can handle). Ryan is one of those first grade standard wingers isnt exceptionally good or exceptionally bad in any particular area, is pretty safe usually. Mitch Brown is a great player, but I think he is more suited to the fullback spot.

At the moment its Utai just ahead of Ryan for mine, but im sure that'll change once Utai starts stuffing up like he is known for. 😛

I believe Utai will hold the position till Beau Ryan is ready to come back.
Then Utai to the bench or reserves.

However I think of how current options Geoff Daniela would be the best but he can't seem to get the opportunity for whatever reason, probably Sheens doubting him.

Tuiaki would've been the best if it wasn't for the injury, we'd have dominance over the entire back line but with the unfortunate events surrounding his retirement whoever it is will just not be as good.

Sheens ultimate play was obviously to have Tuquiri and Tuiaki on each wing, employing power and strength… I dont feel Ryan or Brown gives us that, and Utai is his preferred option.

I wouldnt mind seeing Brown given a go on the wing again, as I feel he deserves a spot in the team based on the last 5 weeks of 2010...

I like Beau, he brings a lot of positive energy to the side, but prefer Brown in the spot, although Utai appears to be going alright there, he's certainly making metres.

I could be wrong, but I thought that Sheens said something along the lines of the spot would be Beau's when available??
Utai ran the ball strongly on Sat, but his lack of mobility is an issue, highlighted in the Warriors second try.

I'd have Beau, I think overall he was pretty good last year, not great but good enough.

i cant see how beau even comes close to a walk up start… utai has exceeded everyones expectation and is playing solid.... brown hasn't done anything wrong.... not to mention beau ain't even that good...

given sheen's history i'd suggest ryan will walk into the #5, but i dont agree with it.

I remember hearing that as well - think it was when sheens was questioned about utai's inclusion in the round 1 team.

Does anyone know how much more time beau is out for?

I dont think the club has set a timeframe officially yet, anyones guess. Id say by round 6?

When is he due back from injury?

I agree, the Warriors second try just highlighted that he can't move quick enough, I mean yer he is a solid build but he just isn't fast enough to be a winger. But on Sat, he was definitely alot better than Rnd 1

He re-injured a groin injury at training and is not running at the moment. No set timeframe on his return, but I wouldn't expect him back for another 4-6 weeks, and even then I have my doubts as to whether he'll return straight to first grade.
