The Official Football Thread

i know there are some Leeds fans on here and you may have not heard the news regarding Round 3 of The Carling Cup. We are playing at home and against LIVERPOOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FIRE UP BOYS!!!!

COYS! Equal first, and best start to the year in a looong time (it took about 15 games to get 12 points last year  )

Losing Modric with a broken leg is a big blow, especially with games against Chelski and Manu coming up.

Yeah. Stoked about this one. Hoping livvo send out a reserves side and get their pants pulled down. You can argue our results are better.

i read in the mX paper today on my train trip home from work that the croatian coach believes that players in the EPL are intentionaly injuring croation players because they play a game against england soon

Leeds united 45 minutes away from the biggest upset in FA Cup History! Well at least the 20 years!

How sweet it was! Makes the hardship of recent times worth it in a way. We're having a really good season, Done well against Liverpool and ManU in cup matches and top of the league by 8pts with a game in hand. The Championship looks a real chance at the moment. Our aussie boys Kisnorbo and Kilkenny are playing their part too.

Still to beat ManU, sweet! Still on a high!

Time to fire this baby back up!

World Cup not far off now. How are we gonna go? I think we'll do well to get out of the group, then again they said we were a long shot last time.

What about the domestic leagues? I'm Stoked Leeds have been promoted back to the English Championship next season. Are we rising from the ground? I hope so. I'm pretty happy Chelsea pipped Manure to the title, capped a great weekend personally.

Born and Raised in Campbelltown… but me Dad is a Yorkshireman from Middlesbrough, England... So since 1996 I have supported the Mighty Boro.

The Sweetest 24 months you can imagine... Flying to Wales in 2004 to watch Boro win their first ever trophy in 120 years... Followed by the Wests Picking up the Title in 2005.

We are having a sweep at work for the soccer world cup. Lucky me, I drew Honduras. Apparently they have as much chance as North Korea and New Zealand…

I have stayed up watching the first 2 games of the world cup. sth africa and mexico drew 1 all. it is nil all between urgay and the frogz (halftime)

a one all draw and a nil all draw?

I'll have to set the recorder…they sound like fascinating games.....fair dinkum this "sport" is a joke.

Mate i used to think the same. But take it from someone who was just like you, the game is better than u think. Its hard to believe that a nil-nil draw can be a good game but it is possible once u understand the game. Also, its a game that u have to be cheering for someone and u cant flick channels, u must watch the entire thing non stop to get a feel for whats happening.

Your obviously a sports lover, so i really encourage u to try and embrace this World Cup, its dead set awesome.

Exactly right Sirro. Further you will instantly become a fan if you go to a game. Nothing beats it for atmosphere. Every game is as electric as the Dragons and Broncos semis in 2005.

Football isn't for everyone. It's very different to rugby league, I don't think either are better/worse, just like I rate Tennis equal with League.

It's different skills. I assume you think AFL is stupid for scoring too many points, and football is stupid for scoring too few. If you hate a sport, your going to find ways to bag it out and call it a joke.

France played woefully last night, should've been ahead in the opening 10 minutes….

1 more sleep...
