the pommy goalkeeper made a massive stuff up. i thought my eyes were playing tricks on me. then after they showed 20 replays of it i realised my eyes weren't playing tricks on me

time for bed, goodnight all

that stuff-up that the england goalie made is the 'hand of clod' hehehe

i wonder if italy will cheat at the world cup again like 4 years ago. nothing but a bunch of divers!

Man that goalie will have his jacobs cut off when he gets home. Imagine what the tabloids are doing to the poor bugger as we speak 😱pen_mouth:

Which is better? Seeing NZ choke in the rugby world cup, South Africa choke in the cricket world cup or England choke in the soccer world cup?

This will probably come back to bite me and England will go on to win the whole thing…

England losing at anything is best.

What's with this stupid offside trap tactic that Australia keeps using and how long until they change this tactic? HELLO IT'S NOT WORKING!!! The Germans are cutting through our defence so easily.

our defence was rubbish. they should be called the shockeroos after that display.

Does this mean the media love in about this abortion of a sport will fade now?

If Australia doesn't do better in its next 2 games, this tournament could really hurt soccer in Australia. The media kept going on about how the world cup is a great thing for soccer here and how it is going to boost everything from the grass roots to the a-league. If Australia is embarrassed, I can see people just walking away…

Going on today, i think we'll get beat in all 3 games.

Ghana will beat us 2-1 and Serbia 1-nil

Yeah if they keep playing like that.

It's a good game when good teams are playing.

a one all draw and a nil all draw?

I'll have to set the recorder…they sound like fascinating games.....fair dinkum this "sport" is a joke.

Mate i used to think the same. But take it from someone who was just like you, the game is better than u think. Its hard to believe that a nil-nil draw can be a good game but it is possible once u understand the game. Also, its a game that u have to be cheering for someone and u cant flick channels, u must watch the entire thing non stop to get a feel for whats happening.

Your obviously a sports lover, so i really encourage u to try and embrace this World Cup, its dead set awesome.

Mate took your advice and got up early this morning to watch the game.
I got swept up in the excitement of the occasion and jumped on the bandwagon that the rest of the country seems to be on…..for a few minutes.

It is such a frustrating sport to watch, I got really angry at the efforts from our blokes and the fact that they were so easily belted embarrassed me - I felt really sorry for the fans at the game.

Upon reflection I feel that it isn't so unbelievable that a giant soccer country like Germany could so easily crush us so the question is....why did I think we were a chance?

As Smeg said, the media love-in with the soccerroos is atrocious. For yonks now all I hear is how this team is brilliant and will do the country proud...and then they have a friendly against some low side and score a 1 all draw....this puts them on the front page of the papers with captions like "world cup here we come!!"

The truth of the matter is that this morning will maybe bring some balance back to the over-hyped reporting on this teams accomplishments.

I'm sorry but I'm even more unimpressed with this sport today than I was yesterday - I like my footballers to be hardened warriors....not primadonna princesses puncing around the field taking dives and rolling around on the ground screaming like female dogs and being satisfyed that a draw is a fantastic result.
