The Other Guys

Especially when someone like woods puts pressure on them saying he wants to string wins together so that HE can be in a good frame of mind to make HIS decision on his future with them.
Seems to be the wrong reason to wanna be stringing some wins together

Just yet another example of why he's a joke of a captain. When Kent put it to him the other night about whether he"d spoken to Moses about staying on for the rest of the year, he gave a matey answer. Kent had to clarify and ask if he"s spoken to him as a captain. I know I keep harping on about it, but he's an embarrassment to the club on how he presents himself and "represents" us. And what's worse is the club seems to happy to sit back and allow him to keep doing it

I agree with you and I really don't think Woods has a concept of what his leadership role entails. He is representing the club in everything he says and is meant to provide leadership on and off the field. I think he's a good bloke but the combined pressure of making his own contractual decision while galvanizing the rest of the team has proven way beyond him. I always said that Lawrence should have been the captain, despite his limited contribution on the field.

"we promote people past their highest level of competency!"

This is Exactly what has happened with Woods. Woods is a great forward, a great ambassador for the Tigers and a great player. WAY to young to be Captain (unless a co-captain with 5 others).

WHY all the HATE? Because Woods can't handle the extra media duties, he seriously would rather be in thongs chatting with mates on a couch playing mario cart. The guys not captain material, OK, We get it.

Let Woods step back, let someone else (maybe Lawrence) step forward and have everything return to normal. Don't hate out on Woods, a good forward and a good tiger just because he is not a good Captain.

Good to see someone with a balanced realistic approach rather than the vitriolic attacks by the vocal minority.

From what I have read on this forum and other forms of social media over the last month or two, you seem to be the minority. Most of us are over it. We're over the constant moving of the goal posts. First it was they wanted to see how we started the year, then it was seeing who the new coach would be, then it was seeing how we go under the new coach, now he doesn't want to make any rash decisions why he's in a bad head space. Not sure what the next excuse will be, maybe they will wait to see if we"re going to play finals. They"re taking the club and supporters for a ride. That might be okay to some, but to the majority of us it's poor form. Especially when these are words and actions from the captain of the club.

Most people including myself want the matter to be resolved asap. However some people are descending into vitriolic and petty personal attacks on players who are still playing for us and trying to win.I am sure if the players concerned are reading some of these disgusting posts it would not be helping then decide to stay at the club.Talk about counterproductive ALL of us want the situation resolved asap but abuse is not in any way helpful.

If the narcissistic players read these posts, then they might have a reality check. But then again….. :brick:

As I stated weeks ago, it was not his fault he was made captain, and he was hailed by one and all on accepting the crown. He sort of leads from behind in the opposite direction regarding the contracts.

Wouldn't say one and all BBF as there were many that thought otherwise and many that just wanted rid of the old one. I was both.

Was he forced into the captaincy at knife point? It was his choice to accept the role and he has had ample time to relinquish the captaincy over the past few months especially when it has become blatantly clear to everybody that he can't cope with the pressure and intense spotlight a leader of an NRL club attracts. No shame in stepping down from the captaincy, plenty more high-profile and larger-statured people than Woods have passed over a leadership role to another individual inside and outside RL.

Yes there is even a form letter for the press release. I (Insert name) am stepping down from the captaincy of the team so I can concentrate on my own form for the remainder of the year.

If Woods has signed for another club, as anticipated, he should be stripped of the captaincy immediately and some one with leadership qualities appointed. IMO E Taylor would be an excellent captain who leads from the front, unlike Woods.

If Woods is the sensitive type then he should stay well away from the Bulldogs as they don't pull punches on their forum The Kennel - their words are stronger than his actions.

I hear a lot of the dogs supporters don't woods to sign with them I work with quite a few and some don't want him there and some will accept him if he has signed, but I won't believe a thing until dogs have announced his signature

Apart from these two prima donnas who have we actually resigned from our current roster for next season and who is unsigned but needs to be locked in now??
