The play of the day!! When Dane Laurie got the ball back into the field of play when he had no right to with five dragons players all over him. What a freaking talent he is and what about the ticker on him....about 85 kgs and he went straight into the middle of them and got the play....hats off to Mr Daine Laurie!!!

Was just about to post something similar in the game thread. Heart, Courage and determination.

Wasnt it just!!! I just watched the game again and damn that was a ballsy effort, he had no right to get back infield. Aside from that had a smashing game as well.

There was a couple noms for play of the day

Cini’s try saver was really good aswell

But yes easily Lauries best game in tigers colours so far. He is such a talent

The next Billy Slater

Once we get our act together he will really excel

Rarely makes mistakes

Hope he loves Madge and tigers as much as simpkin

Very good effort, a nice change and great to see. 50/50 whether he made it out, personally I think they rightfully pushed him back into the in goal but a good effort nonetheless. And nice to get a break like that for once.

Try saving tackle by Cini on the line also a great effort.

He will be buy of the year for us. He's without a doubt one of those effort players that always do what it takes to get the advantage. Ever since game one with us he's looked on another level with how he plays the game and the determination he brings. Awesome under pressure under the high ball too. Once he harnesses the right moments to inject himself into the attack he'll go to an even higher level.

Respectfully disagree. Momentum had stopped and a second effort pushed him back, but like you say it was 50/50 and could have went either way. The key part of the 2 plays you mentioned is effort. Really in the end, 2 plays that were sliding door moments and proved if you want something more than the opposition than you can make it happen.

was good to see one of our boys play with some heart against the odds. way to lead by example.

They need to work more plays around him Doueihi pulled off a good move but there needs to be more especially with him running off our forwards the more WT'S throw it around the better they look

He’s my new favourite player so safe at the back there with blinding speeed and footwork and ball playing ability he has it all

His best game so far. He had shown glimpses over the first couple months of the comp, but I quite honestly was starting to wonder what the fuss was about. Till the Dragons. Build on that and I won’t question the hype anymore.

Daine Laurie claims the VB Hard Earned Effort this week!

Regardless of whether Laurie made it or was pushed back - most importantly the effort, determination, and urgency was there. Other players would have just conceded the tackle and restart.

That was a great moment. He did well.

I was annoyed when they got the kick into the in goal and saw the chase. Then I thought he was pinned and maybe even lost the ball. But the ref restored my faith in the league gods.

It’s was a monumental effort although I thought the call could’ve gone either way
