The Radley Farce

Well, if theyre not paying him for 10 weeks or so, surely they can use that $$$ for payment to any player temporarily brought into the 30 man squad. NRL tell them to P.O.

Not if they are sitting at the max of their cap - any additional payments would be added to their cap - thats why they would want cap relief so they can use his money. But i do agree that NRL should tell them to PO.

So, if NRL approve cap relief, every player that falls out of form or gets injured will be encouraged to get on the gear so they can be stood down and their cap money used elsewhere.

If the Roosters get away with the salary cap exemption…it would set a precedent for clubs to create cap space by punting players when they have mismanaged there roster. RLPA would have their hands full.

I’m sure there would be more leaks coming out of clubs about players they would want to get rid of. The jurnos would be in heaven. “White powder found in player Xs locker”. Suddenly player X is gone and the club has $500K and a new spot in the Top 30.

Chammas article today is saying that unpaid games instead of a fine basically halves the dollar penalty as he would pay income tax anyway, and making the fine component a donation makes it tax deductable halving the impact again.

Gotta give it to the Rorters for the smarts.

Makes it easier to cover with a couple of bets on the golf course.
