The rant thread

Anything can seem possible if you approach with a predisposed POV, and continue with confirmation bias.

Unless it really was the reptilians and I'm just one of them!

I guess that bullet really must have been magic then

Why do you think it was magic?

I'm not sure if your basing a lot of your assumptions on a Costner movie but have a flick through this before typing anymore.

have a small rant. The amount of attentions calamities like the Boston bombings get. While, my heart goes out those affect it really irked me to see on ABC 24 a whole screen and live coverage with normal programming interupted for the boston bombings and then in the little bar down the bottom it says: Bomb in Iraq Killed 50 People 300 injured. That's all it got! a little message down the bottom while a few people dead in America will be headlining for days and in the news for weeks. Don't get me wrong; I feel for those people and their families and friends but its just…..i dunno. wrong or something

Testify! This annoys me to no end. Same went with that last school shooting in the US, **IIRC some nutcase cut loose with a sword/knife in China and killed some kids.** When I put this to people bemoaning the US tragedy they all said they hadn't heard about it.

The grievance is more with major news networks than people themselves. People will only know what is reported.

No kids died in the China incident.

Ah OK, my memory is pretty poor. I thought some had died. I guess that sort of lessens the impact of my point.

Any sort of misbehaviour on the roads. Can't stand when people don't obey the rules

Totally understand what your saying KH , but i have a question I would like to ask all politicians

The drive from Gladstone to Brisbane takes an extra 2 hours longer than it used to due to changing the speed limits

Do the politicians understand by keeping us on the roads longer increases the chances we will have a road accident ??

Probably even more than it did with us doing 100 km\h . Why don't the pollies admit they screwed up by putting down cheaper and inferior bitumen which has caused many of the issues in slippery conditions especially between Gympie and Nambour

Fitted sheets :rant How do you fold them :rant

That's a good one. When someone has an answer, PM me please.

You don't fold them, you just roll them up in a ball

Or get the wife to do it (I type this looking nervously over my shoulder :roll )

Having to drive for hours with my 'L' plated children (2 at the moment). Not only are my nerves frayed they have to do 100 hours each.

 Oh yes, one of the worst standards of driving ever. Back when I got my license, you hold your learners for 6 months, sit the test and your good to go!

My father told me that when he held his learner's, he had to drive to the police station (by himself, might I add) and when he rocked up the Officers ask "How did you get here?" And when he told them he drove, they immediately handed over his open license. And that was back in the 60's? 70's? Crazy stuff.

Currently in this boat too….tho thankfully only one kid.
Went to a council run class specifically for Learner driver instructors and the bloke doing the show mentioned he recently had a woman attend with triplets all on their L's....120 hours each...imagine that

On the flipside Ink, think about how much driving lessons for triplets would cost?

Say $50 per hour for three kids at 120 hours apiece… That's like $18K! But I do agree, the 120 hours is terrible. I still see red P platers hooning around and driving like they have no idea so it hasn't improved the attitude of young drivers.

i had probably done over 150 hours before the test though coz i mainly drove with my cousin when i lived at his house.. never had a log book.
