Brad Arthur's men were comfortable last-start winners against the Cronulla Sharks — **albeit in a game where their opponents were ravaged by injury** — and are set to welcome back a number of key players for the Easter Monday game.

Fresh from a confidence-boosting win over the Newcastle Knights, Wests Tigers will look to record back-to-back wins for the first time this year when they take on the Parramatta Eels in Round 4.

Michael Maguire's side showed plenty of grit and determination to get the better of the Knights in a milestone game for the home side — fighting back late on to get the two points — and their maiden victory of the season will certainly fill Wests Tigers with plenty of confidence heading into Monday's showdown against the Eels.
Parramatta themselves come into the contest in red hot form, having not dropped a game through their opening three matches.

Brad Arthur's men were comfortable last-start winners against the Cronulla Sharks — albeit in a game where their opponents were ravaged by injury — and are set to welcome back a number of key players for the Easter Monday game.

Ryan Matterson (concussion) is expected to return after sitting out last week, while Mitchell Moses (concussion) should also be right to play after going off against the Sharks. Bryce Cartwright (jaw) is also pushing for selection in the squad, further increasing the competition for spots in the Eels' forward pack.

In contrast, Wests Tigers will head into the game unchanged for the first time this season, with Alex Twal free to play despite being found guilty at the Judiciary on Tuesday night — his charge attracting only a monetary fine.

Zane Musgrove and James Tamou will start up front for the hosts, who have again named three middle forwards on the bench in Thomas Mikaele, Stefano Utoikamanu and Joe Ofahengaue. Moses Mbye's inclusion as the utility offers cover in a number of positions, having played at hooker and centre in the win over Newcastle.

Having missed out on the fixture in 2020 due to the COVID-19 shutdown, the return of the Easter Monday game is certainly a huge win for Members and fans with a healthy crowd expected to fill out the former Olympic venue this week. In the five Easter Monday games played at Stadium Australia, an average of 36,000 people have filled the ground each time, and all signs are pointing to another healthy attendance this time around.

Parra hitting back.

Wests Tigers gave themselves a timely boost **with their surprise win over Newcastle** ahead of their local derby against the undefeated Eels in KFC Monday Football.

...
They will need all the confidence they can muster when they confront a Parramatta side that has swept all before it in 2021 and is sitting pretty in second place on points difference behind the Panthers.

Lol it’s a surprise we won

Slimeys can rot in the sewers so long as The Mighty Wests Tigers follow my blue-print in a thread from before that I don't exactly recall...nor the details of such post in aforementioned mystery thread... But alas, our boys have got this.

Slightly related, but why is it always the same players talking to the media. It gets boring hearing the same thing over and over again. Would be good to let other players talk to the media, get a gauge of how they talk etc. Someone like Tommy comes to mind. When you have someone like Luciano who looks like he doesnt know what his saying it makes you wonder why other players arent fronting the media.

I'd take 17 flogs if we could make the Top 8

I'm not going to down vote you Hap, because that's not my style, but na man not worth it. And I don't think so either.

1. I'm glad we don't have that calibre of self-entitled losers in our club.
2. Matterson would just jump ship at the first smell of more dollars anyway no matter where he was
3. I don't think any team would work with Moses and Brooks in the same side. They just don't compliment each other. Moses is too bossy (which is probably a good trait for a half) and Brooks too submissive.
