The SHEENS Poll.....

Well how we forget ….Coach 0 & 4 want,s a contract extension is this a joke ! How can anyone say wait until early next season for results then sign him up. The results are in people 0 & 4 we have had the team to make at least 2 final series ..really lets get serious ..anyway thats me 2 bobs worth for all the good it is.And for the Australian coach who cares. See Ya

How many chances does the guy get?

Training staff have come & gone
CEO's have come & gone
Players have come & gone
The only constant is Fred & Barney

People say wait till mid year….LOL...premiership runs are started at the back third now.

This is Humphrey Bumphrey looking after his job....Sheens aint the Fonz, hes Don - Don Corleone

Enough of Sheens saying _this is our make or break year_ or _no more excuses_, 2010 is it! . If we go 5 years straight after winning a premiership without a finals appearance he has to go.

If the club resigns Sheens before a ball is kicked in 2010 that would be absolutely and utterly pathetic.

You think they would learn from 2007?

Given the article in the smh on Sheens future safe at the Wests Tigers…...it certainly deserves a poll......

C'Mon.....Sheens supporters and detractors alike .....tell me what you really think?

Comments welcome........

what do you think geo.?

I think that Sheens time was up in 2007 but in the Infinite wisdom of the Wests Tigers Board his contract was extended untill 2010…..

Since then though he seems to have changed his ways..cut the deadwood signed Ellis re-signed our guns in Robbie and Benji, Lawrence as well as the next level in Moltzen, Ayshford and the like as well as overseen the development of young players that made the Grand Final in the NYC competition.........

But most significant of all is the signing of Folkes ..it was obvious things were going stale in the Coaches office,,,,fresh ideas where needed......a change in the coaching staff most good judges on here have been calling for since 2007.......We have got that ......Royce can now be consigned to the witches hats on game day...more power to him.....

As with all things Sheens though It doesn't matter what I think....Sheens has a point to prove in 2010.......At the end of the day whether Sheens stays or goes will be up to Sheens..........

For the record despite all my gut instinct........I think he should be re-signed but I have a lot of faith he's still got it

Geo, Folkes is doing Cherrys job - strength & conditioning

a change in the coaching staff most good judges on here have been calling for since 2007…....**We have got that**

No- we dont.

That's a change…......I'll bet Folkes has a fair bit of influence now and in the season proper.......Anyway the whole coaching staff should have input.......Folkes is the one out there at the moment pushing the players to the limit learning what they can and can't do........

Sheens does dumb things at times but he isn't stupid....

I've been singing Sheens' praises since he signed with us way back in the day and I still do. Most people here raise an important question in their posts, that being who do we replace Tim with? All the detractors who want him gone have failed to give a sensible and valid answer to that question. I like the way the club has recruited, especially the siging of Steve Folkes. I expect that Tim respects Folksie enough to allow him to express his views on the team should train and play and I'd like to think that would happen.

After reading the article I really liked how Stephen Humphreys says that both he and Tim are comfortable with the way the negotiations are progressing. Evidently Tim isn't pushing to secure a deal now which tells me he's confident that the results will do the negotiating for him.

I voted yes for a number of reasons. One being that the younger players he has brought through are comfortable with him and to sack him, I feel, might do more harm to them and the team than good. People under estimate how damaging it can be to have a team destablised and put through uncertainty.

Someone mentioned that him being the Australian coach would help us attract better players. I totally agree, I think we'll have a better chance of attracting more quality players than we ever had before for that reason.

Lastly and most importantly, who do we replace him with? Give me one person who will take the club to the next level.

Whatever wet dream you got going, it needs to end.

Folkes is a strength and fitness guy. Billy Johnson and Ron Palmer have no say about team tactics/selections, so why would our guy?

If the Tigers are performing strongly and winning games then I'm open to keeping Sheens. If the club is struggling and injuries are not to blame, then start shopping around by all means. Sheens has no excuses next season, the club has recruited well, there is some exceptional talent coming througth the grades, the coaching/performance staff has been strengthened with Folkes coming on board and overall the Tigers have a stronger lineup than last year.

I would hope this is the same for any club.

U just gave one answer yourself.

Im not saying we should sack him, i was early last year, but i now believe its a wait and see thing. But one argument in support of Sheens i never understand is that of "who do we replace him with". If your failing, why would u keep things the same? U have to try something different. If the replacement is worse, well u try again. Its better than treading water with the same bloke.
After all failing is failing.

Who's talking about tactics …...........that's Sheens job...........

There are many other things that go into preperation for a game of rugby league.......

You compare Steve Folkes and what he brings to a football team to Ronnie Palmer and Billy Johnston...........

What rubbish.
Stephen Kearney & John Lang were just two of many names in the past often thrown up.
Lam & Flanagan two others.

As mentioned, failing is failing….and just about everything in the joint is changing bar the coach and his trusty sidekick, yet we still fail

Its quite simple:
We make the 8 sheens stays,
We miss the 8 once again and he must be sacked.

It'll happen one way or another before we get that far into the season.

Rubbish Indeed

There is no way I would swap Tim Sheens for Lam, Kearney, Lang, Flanagan.

Before Sheens we had a loser coah in Terry the Cheat Lamb. No Cubs program, Training half at either stadium, no central traing facility, No real unison amongst players or support staff.

Concord was settled on and now it is our home.

Thats foresight and strategy that helps foster success on the field.

Team inexperiance and stupidity have gotten the boys to loose enough close games to make us miss the semis, not the coach dropping the ball or missing kicks.

This man has 4 premierships. One more on its way in 2010.

PS - This is a Great Thread as It's got me fired up.

When Johnny Lang left the Panthers he didn't have 14 other clubs knocking on his door for a job until Souths offered him a job last year. He only got the Souths job because **there was no-one better.** When Brad Fittler got replaced, who did Politis hand pick? A man who has never won a premiership in over 15 years of trying. Why? **There was no-one better.** Can you follow me where I'm going with this?

As for Flanaghan, Lam or Kearny. Do you really want to go for someone who has had great success in lower grades but is unproven in the big league of the NRL. Memories of Terry Lamb start screaming right now. Do you want that type of club back?

Have a cup of coffee and perhaps a closer look at the bigger picture my friend

The last 12 seasons Sheens coached teams have made the finals ONCE…..1/11....THATS THE BIG PICTURE 'my friend'

All of those names mentioned MIGHT fail...Sheens DOES fail, you just dont get it
