The strength of our bench...

…might be the difference!

Drags fans are livid about how ineffective theirs is - no props!

Comparing ours to theirs.

Bench has a real good look to it, I really like it.
Size, strength and skill.
Anasta, Fulton and Thompson can cover any backline reshuffles.

A lot more size, a lot more power and a lot more aggression than any pack we have offered up for a long time. They might be quite young and unheralded, but I think our forwards might catch a few teams off guard in 2014 if taken lightly.

He's not in firsts at the moment, but I'm liking what I see from Nathan Brown. I hope he comes along this year. Plenty of agro in his runs.

Our best bench will be

14 Patterson
15 Sironen
16 Ava/BMM/Gavet
17 Taupau

It's Definitely a Monster bench but I would like to see Sirro and Patterson start in the Backrow and I would have a Bench of

14\. James Gavet (He was great in the Trials)
15\. Adam Blair (He is always going to be in the team and he can be used as part of the prop Rotation)
16\. Martin Taupau/Galloway (One of them will be starting)
17\. Sauaso Sue/Ava Seumaufagai/BMM.
18\. Dene Halatau (Can we have Fulton and Halatau in the same 17?)

Have seen plenty of ordinary benches step up and do there job . if the dragons starting side do there job they can make benchies look like rep players . its all names on paper until they get out and perform .

Really liking the bench I believe Jesse put some KG on and can't wait to see him on the field again!

The other 'strength' of our bench is apart from Patterson the other 3 are relatively inexperienced compared to others. Our potency I believe will be the sheer mongrel the likes of Tapau, Gavet and Sue will bring off the bench; agree too about relishing the thought of seeing a bigger Jesse out there tomorrow as well.

The Dragons pack was blown off the field by Souths. They will have certainly worked on that and will muscle up against us. Going into this particular game with 4 forwards on the bench who have size and aggression is brilliant. Should be a great tussle in the middle of the field.

Ah Mau and Gavet were tipped to be Warriors propping future when they were playing juniors together! Promised to be a very potent combo for the Auckland-based club, however Bluey McLennan opted to release them both after Cleary left.

In that same year De Belin and Merrin were both making their mark as well so tomorrow all 4 'props' will be on show again. Just a bit of trivia.
