The Ultimate Power Play - NO DEAL

Penrith have usurped Manly and the Roosters right now for most hated club on social media.

Even their own fans despite liking the idea think Gus is doing this in a piece of sh… erm crap way.,

Just remember the last person at the Tigers who wanted a release but wasn't getting it - Mitch Moses.

Do we really want a coach who doesn't want to be here???

The question is: Will the coach give it all over here? If he's forced to stay I reckon he won't give full commitment and dedication.

Stuff him it's not like we use to not playing finals

An absolute cockroach deed nonetheless.

Absolutely almighty ivan turned out to be a selfish lying human like the rest of them.

Team mantra all lies.

why are people turning on Ivan so much?

he has a son who plays elsewhere and a team has offerred him a contract to coach his son. he's told his current employer that he's got this contract. out of the meeting, the ceo has said we're both happy with our decision.

he hasn't tried to walk away or leave us hanging.

If he wants to go we should probably let him, if the can adequately compensate us, which they will if they have their hearts set on him. I suggest anyone who thinks otherwise look at the story from the premier league with Everton, Watford & Marco Silva, basically it didn't work out for the club who held onto a coach who had his head turned by another club, and instead of releasing him for a compensation package, they had to pay to sack him 2 months later because his position was untenable.

That said, he has to ask for a release which hasn't happened. He may be using this as leverage for a new contract for all we know. Until he asks the board for a release from his contract he is our coach.

I genuinely have no idea why he would want to go back to a club that sacked him, unless it was all a ruse to let Nathan get some first grade experience under his belt without having the stigma of being in the team because his daddy is picking him. That seems a little farfetched though.

There is a lot of foolery going around with some varying reports.

Some claiming Ivan has requested a deal from next year and others saying Nathan has informed the Panthers CEO he won't commit cos he wants to play with his father next year which would be at the tigers..

Phil Gould the rat with his fork tongue has been spilling lies all week and we have no concrete info what Ivan wants to do.

Does his loyalty lie with the up and coming tigers or those that have wronged him in the past?

Until we have a clear answer Ivan must face the sword of backlash.

Panthers are the cockroaches of the NRL. Total opportunists, egocentric deceivers, manipulators and they have an excessive motive for everything. Just like its pest counterpart in the animal kingdom.

Not too sure how a Coach can do a "Mitch Moses" to us if he's not released. I guess he could make it hard on the players and force them to do something, maybe, just can't see something like that happening.

Looks like Gus is enjoying gambling with other people's money.
He has slowly dismantled Penrith the last 12 years with little in the bank.
Wonder what happens if Cleary goes to Penrith and his son losses form.
Gus will sack em both.

He would walk in a heartbeat if we let him and there in lies the problem. We dont let him and Nathan is forced to choose club over father. Like really!! a bit over the whole scenario with both of them. You have two clubs risking their seasons/salary caps, stability all to accommodate these two.
Time for the Clearys to get over themselves and suck it up - you dont always get everything you want when you want it and they are both starting to appear all a bit too self involved.

Gee what to be a fly on the wall around the Tigers and Cleary this morning.
I expect he will be as composed and honest as he always is, but he must be packing it re how he fronts the players today.

How would you feel if the love of your life told you she was leaving you for somebody else? In regards to football, that's what Ivan is to a lot of WT's fans. A real coach who saved us from the laughing stock the last coach made us. The love fest over him since he started has been way ott. Not to mention the obsession with the son. Now all that is being ripped away from the suppprter base. They are going to be bitter.

Idk what he says. Even if he was to say that its all a beat up and that he's going nowhere, why should the players believe him?

The end result is its another season we've been making a run for the finals and we've sabotaged ourselves. Happened in 2014 with Potter and Farah, and again in 2016 when Taylor dropped Farah.

Ivan was probably testing the waters he now knows the Wests Tigers position. News break on channel 9 Gould denying an approach has been made to Ivan where does this Buffoon get off he's told so many lies lately he cant keep up. Ivan wake up your, top dog at Wests Tigers , at Penriff you'll be Goulds Bi*ch he's sacked you once nothing to stop him doing it again he's going to be desperate for results and will always be out to cover his ar**

Probably the silliest post that I’ve seen yet on this subject!
He’s no buffoon as you will probably see soon.

You obviously don’t have any idea of the strength of Penrith as a club
They are possibly in the best position of most clubs in the Nrl,
Both monetarily and as strength of current and upcoming players,
