The problem is that he's an a-hole. The fact that he plays for Melbourne and was a key figure in the cheating saga is just an added bonus.

As Brilliant a player Billy is the fact is he has been involved in some in some 'rather' unsavory acts on the field, some of them happened against our players, not quite the clever guy he thought was, some things he did might not be caught on camera!.
He is a competitor I'll give him that and a fine player but some of the shite he has done doesn't absolve him!.

Where haven't I stood by my original opinion? Don't get that high up on your horse that you think that Im seeking validation from you. Self importance is a wonderful thing isn't it.
Have stated all along that Slater is scum and haven't once deviated from that opinion. Hope he plays like a busted IF he gets a game next week.

I see something wrong with his wiring, I have no problems with a stink, standing over a man hammered in a tackle, but Slater seems to have a nasty hyper competitive streak that runs unchecked, almost seems green lit. When he kicked out in the bomb against the dogs, it wasnt a part of his jump, he went up caught the ball saw the player coming and raised his foot... Sliding studs up to defend a try, I know he is giving his all, not quitting to the fat lady, I half admire it, but its nasty.
Im a Lidcombe Magpies fan. I love hard footy, but its a different era, these are full blown professionals today. They dont have to be saints, I love to hate JWH, was hyped when Kidwell stood over Mason...
To all the good ole boys, they took alot of the raw brutality out in order for flair and skill to prosper. Hell if Tommy was in todays WT squad, even playing for the same team, he would have traded Benji around the locker room, smokes for sexual favours....

Aussie born and bred but I find it hard to like blokes the calibre of Slater, Smith, Inglis, Bird, Gallen, Thaiday, Boyd, Myles etc so wouldn't be shedding any tears if those blokes were the bridesmaids again come Saturday night.
