I remember when I was in 3rd class I had a teacher called Mr Reitze (I think that was how it was spelt) although he could have quite easily been known as Nazi.

I remember him telling us one day that when you watch the news, the reason they call it the NEWS is that it is information that comes from every direction:

North, East, West and South.

He was always telling us interesting things.

Another gem was why a woman was called woman.

It was because they were like a man but full of woe.

He also had a distinct way of dishing out punishment, (ah, the good old days of schooling) he had a floppy piece of plastic or rubber like a strap type of thing that was about a foot long and around 2 inches wide that he used to wack you with.

He called this device Percy and your day was always full of woe when he got you to come out the front to meet Percy.

Ah yes, he taught us many interesting and valuable lessons.
