This club is falling apart

Like others I would imagine Utai is winding up some poor young bloke and he took the bait hook line and sinker but if by some remote chance if it was true it would not be the end of the earth. Watching the Storm, the Dogs,Manly and even our u20s,they all play to a very rigid structure and while Benji is playing in our backline our structure will be all over the shop.He will bring diamonds and rocks and not much in between. I really think his best days are behind him but maybe a new coach will bring out another level in him and prove me wrong

was talking to Matt Utai and he told me Benji has signed, If you have a batter source than me saying he did not sign go ahead but I know for sure he signed last night.

Did u hear this as well?

Utai told me the same thing… Also said that Lawrence is off to Union, Farah now to Brisbane, and that Freddy Fitler is coaching the team, PLUS the other big news is that Taniela is coming back to play on the wing...

i beleive you mate, no one else would but i do😉

Thanks Troy for setting it all straight 😱pen_mouth:

Sure you didn't miss a few

Like Keefy,Blair ,Fults,Woodsy and Bell leaving the Tigers to start their own "Full Monty" show on Broadway

Robbie is only leaving because he is upset that he was left out

Benji phoned me last night saying he forgot to pack his thongs for sunny Townsville and can I express post them for him, mentioned nothing about leaving. Tonight I'm playing poker with Nathan Brown, Matt Utai and a few of the ex tigers boys at Tim Sheens place, we're house sitting while he's away.I'll be able to confirm the Benji rumour.
Stay tuned BenjiMagic.

whats funny

We dont get results yet people still want to keep the staff and players.. You think the coach is the only one to blame!!!!..

Take the goggles off..

We lost Heighno… No big loss... he was well past it.
We lost Ryan.. Big loss in terms of Marketing but playing ability we have better options for future..
We got rid of sheens.. people wanted it and they get their wish..

Dont get upset when the decisions have to be made to change the club.

I for one look forward to a new coach... i think youll see the players like MARSHALL, Moltz, Lawrence and all that improve out of sight..

My thoughts exactly Troy. Can't really add any more to it.

I will say though that these rumours, as fun as they can be, by the same token are real annoying. Until we appoint a coach and actually move in any direction they will stay around.

Crisis at the Wests Tigers: Tim Sheens has left the Wests Tigers with about as much going for it as the US left Vietnam in the seventies. It is a burning mess. The players – those that are left – are in open rebellion with the ex-coach and the front office. The list has been decimated. The culture shot. The bank drained. It is a total disaster that could see this year's pre-season premiership favourite enter next year well in contention for the wooden spoon.

The coach situation could not have been handled worse. The Tigers front office showed no bottle, delaying the inevitable, all to save a few bucks. Even at the death, they refused to fire him, offering him another role at the club. It was embarrassing and a clearly untenable position for the club and Sheens. The Tigers needed to make a clean break – for the club and for Sheens' legacy – yet it has been protracted and ugly. Worse, they have no clear candidate in mind, only the fact they have no money to spend. The supposed red-hot favourite, Matt Parish, would rather assist Ricky Stuart at the wooden spooners than stay in the race for the Tigers. An endorsement from Alan Jones certainly didn't help.

While Parish will be at Parramatta, it seems the Tigers have stolen the Eels' recruitment handbook with their decisions over the last two years. Out are veteran contributors Bryce Gibbs and Chris Heighington, tackle break machine Andrew Fifita and highly promotable Beau Ryan, who played his best year and was promised a deal that never eventuated. In are high-priced flop Adam Blair and over-the-top Braith Anasta, along with overpaid Tigers Lote Tuqiri and Tim Moltzen.

Yikes, maybe Carl Webb and Paul Whatuira weren't that bad!

With the Tigers having little money and little room to move and the club alienating one half of the venture by doing everything they can to pulverise Wests, the future is bleak. And it has all been brought about by their own silliness. The Tigers window is closed. Let the rebuild begin.

Surely one of the Moderator can ban people once these rumors are proved to made up

Thats the problem , Utai may have told this kid some BS and he doesn't know better , he thinks he has stumbled on the biggest scoop of the year

People can change their minds as well as situations change ie The Miller situation Sheens leaves and the Miller changes his mind (Not saying he has or hasn't )

Bit harsh to ban people over that imo

Yeah all these rumours are driving me crazy. I wish that someone from the club ( Steve Humpherys) would come out right now and tell us what is going on.Tell us when the new coach will be appointed and who has gone and who has stayed. That's what I don't understand the club lets these rumours gain ground and then they put out the fires later, jump on them straight away, I would appreciate it.

I heard this rumour also, but it came from a different player… I'd say they are all taking the mickey out of us and having a good laugh while Benji is away in the NZ Camp?!

The fact we are getting compared to Parra shows just how much of a train wreck we really are atm. The sad thing is you couldn't really disagree.

Don't disagree entirely but
1\. The list has not been decimated, it'll be stronger.
2\. The boys club culture is being weeded out
3\. Who cares if players are having a rebellion against the FORMER coach
25 games from Marika instead of Beau and more game time for BMM and Pettybourne instead of Heino actually makes us stronger.

This thread is a joke.

Anyone who thinks the club is "falling apart" because we let two average players leave is an idiot.

For christs sake.

In repsonse to wtfl's recent post;

1\. Tim Sheens left West Tigers after 10 years service. This is an extremely long period to be coaching a rugby league team. As great a coach as he is it appears that the adage "familiarity breeds contempt" has in his case rung true. As much as they respect Sheens, many experienced players have for some time shown that they are affected by the "in one ear and out the other ear" syndrome under Sheens coaching. In coaching as it is in most forms of employment things never remain the same. Staff become redundant for many reasons. It is clear that it is now time for a new coach and I am sure that the coach will be chosen wisely and will certainly be a choice for the betterment of West Tigers.

2\. I along with many people believe that West Tigers Management have handled Sheens departure with great respect. Irrespective of what sensational slant the media try to put on it, Sheens will be leaving Tigers with his dignity and great respect for his experience and achievements intact.

3\. Please don't compare Tigers recruitment with wooden spooners Parramatta who have not won a premiership for nearly 30 years. Instead look at the difference between the young players being nurtured by Tigers and those of Parramatta. Tigers this year won the Under 20's and S.G. Ball Cup. How does that record compare with Parramatta's?

4\. Wests and Tigers came together to form one club, West Tigers, which all followers should be proud of. Plenty of very good quality West juniors have entered the West Tigers ranks, think of the current West Tigers Under 20's and Chris Lawrence. West and Tigers will continue to complement each other in West Tigers

5\. The future for West Tigers is very bright indeed. Tim Sheens has laid a good foundation which will help the new coach. 2013 is likely to be amongst the better years for West Tigers.

AmericanHistory X, as far as can make out the "Matt Parish for Wests Tigers" recommendation has only been from Alan Jones and his character reference judgments are not too good based on his current record.
