In repsonse to wtfl's recent post;

1\. Tim Sheens left West Tigers after 10 years service. This is an extremely long period to be coaching a rugby league team. As great a coach as he is it appears that the adage "familiarity breeds contempt" has in his case rung true. As much as they respect Sheens, many experienced players have for some time shown that they are affected by the "in one ear and out the other ear" syndrome under Sheens coaching. In coaching as it is in most forms of employment things never remain the same. Staff become redundant for many reasons. It is clear that it is now time for a new coach and I am sure that the coach will be chosen wisely and will certainly be a choice for the betterment of West Tigers.

2\. I along with many people believe that West Tigers Management have handled Sheens departure with great respect. Irrespective of what sensational slant the media try to put on it, Sheens will be leaving Tigers with his dignity and great respect for his experience and achievements intact.

3\. Please don't compare Tigers recruitment with wooden spooners Parramatta who have not won a premiership for nearly 30 years. Instead look at the difference between the young players being nurtured by Tigers and those of Parramatta. Tigers this year won the Under 20's and S.G. Ball Cup. How does that record compare with Parramatta's?

4\. Wests and Tigers came together to form one club, West Tigers, which all followers should be proud of. Plenty of very good quality West juniors have entered the West Tigers ranks, think of the current West Tigers Under 20's and Chris Lawrence. West and Tigers will continue to complement each other in West Tigers

5\. The future for West Tigers is very bright indeed. Tim Sheens has laid a good foundation which will help the new coach. 2013 is likely to be amongst the better years for West Tigers.

was talking to Matt Utai and he told me Benji has signed, If you have a batter source than me saying he did not sign go ahead but I know for sure he signed last night.

So what has Benji signed exactly? His new ATM card?

Yeah all these rumours are driving me crazy. I wish that someone from the club ( Steve Humpherys) would come out right now and tell us what is going on.Tell us when the new coach will be appointed and who has gone and who has stayed. That's what I don't understand the club lets these rumours gain ground and then they put out the fires later, jump on them straight away, I would appreciate it.

Tigerkaz - relax! If Humphries tried to respond to every rumour that appeared on this forum he'd have no time to be doing anything else. He has said that he and 4 members of the board are to consider candidates for the coaching job and will in due course appoint their preferred man. Let's just let the process unfold. Assume that no player movements will occur until the new coach is appointed and he can have his input into the roster he wants.
Until then, take every rumour with more than just a "grain of salt" and enjoy the entertainment!

This has to be the worst year in the history of this club losing

Not all of them are highly rated but all will affect us, Benji will leave us without a five eighth nor halfback, the departure of Beau Ryan will affect our promotions etc as Beau was becoming all the kids favourite player. We also have so many financial problems, we can not even afford to pay out our coach which is really disappointing….

I think your going off half cocked young buck, wait until there is an official announcement from the club. Things will become a bit clearer once we appoint our new coach shortly. Unless i'm mistaken the only players that won't be with us next year are Ryan, Heighington, Ellis & Moors from that list, i can't recall reading an official announcement from our club or any club re signing Ayshford or Humble. While i have no problem's with letting them go but with only how it was done by our club, i believe it's the shake up the joint needed & we will be better off for it under a new coach. I agree our financial situation is disappointing & could be better but with the announcement of one NSW state cup team as well as the league grant eventually either covering the whole salary cap of the three grades or most of it now the new tv rights have been sorted we should no longer be under financial restraints.
