This is the last game.

I feel you. I watched 3 NRL games all season. Used to watch all the games, every round.
It's not so much we suck but the state of the game. Two tier refereeing system that favour the tv ratings.

I know we are shit and we deserved to be well and truly beaten but do they have to rub it in to the point that Manly are awarded 2 tries from blatant forward passes and another where the grounding is very questionable by Cherry Evans.

Of course they check and re-check the grounding by Papali'i and disallow his try which was no worse than the one Cherry Evans has been awarded.

It is just a complete joke when the Fox commentators pick these things up immediately but the match officials can't, and to rub it in, the commentators laugh about it because they can see the injustice that is being handed out and how it is demoralising a team that is already on the back foot.

Like I said in the opening, we are shit, but do those officiating the game have to continually give opposing teams a leg up when come the end of the day it is clear that they don't really need the help.

One has to wonder if it is just due to incompetence or just unconscious bias on the part of the match officials but the NRL really have to look at how some of these poor decision affect the momentum and the final result of a game.

I honestly cannot recall a time when there has been so much technology available and yet so many bad decisions are being made in the game.
Deplorable. If AI turns out the same way. God help us all.

8 wins in two seasons.

Only real highlight was the Cowboys game this season when they for once looked great.

12 seasons without a Grand Final appearance really sums up how bad this organisation is.

Crazy to think we got 8 in a row once.
And how much fun was it

Amazing to compare the differences.. For me personally at least

Got right into the vibe that was Bay 105 or whatever it was in the corner at telstra... Made banners for others
Stored the wins on fox IQ or maybe that was 10 & 11...watchaled all the replays highlites read the articles bought mags and merchandise

Still look forward to our games each week last few years but usually until about 20 minutes in

Bay 105 was awesome! But even before that, I always went to games with an expectation of winning some of the games. Now, I just hope for a contest, and not a flogging. It's sad.

I preface this by saying I have never taken drugs.

Wests Tigers is my drug addiction whereby I would swear to kick the habit at the end of each season, only to be sucked in again around Jan / Feb with false hope and 27 weeks of asking why I bought membership again to watch them.

I paid additional money to watch the last game from overseas (US) and it started at 1am to 3am so stuffed up the next day as well.

I agree that the rub of the green just doesn’t happen for the poor sides and watch the finals get ruined by a crap decision

I would have watched nearly every game of the season a few years ago but now watch our games only. Even origin is poor with the aggression taken out of it. Sin bins for slapping really….

Dallas and Blocker would be horrified

I think it’s 18 years, but 12 is bad enough.
Edit..
just topped up my glass and remembered that we’ve never been beaten in a Grand Final. The only other team boasting that is Knights. 😂

Coming from the Balmain side of the JV unfortunately i do remember losing grand finals and it is a terrible experience.
Yep I went to both 88 and 89 GFs with my uncle.
When Dogs cheated us out of 88, the Canterbury fans acted like pure trash as we walked out of the stadium, giving us huge amounts of shit.
When Canberra won in 89 their fans were great. They talked about the game and had sympathy.
I’m not sure which one was worse….

I think the 89 GF felt worse. Canterbury should have played with 12 men for most of the 88 game but Lamb got away with a dog act and they outscored us well and truly. 89 was just heartbreaking - between Warren Ryan and Bill Harrigan "decisions" that is the one that got away.

I also remember the 1966 grand final and i did not expect that we would win but hoped to obviously(i was 13),so 5 grand finals with only 2 wins but i hope to see our 6th GF and our 3rd win but the years are slipping away.

Lamb should've been sent for that tackle .

But we don't even need to go back that far. 2010 PF Tuquiri gets his ribs broken by Jeremy Smith's knees gets cited and fined but no penalty. 1 set later Soward kicks winning FG.

Further back my innocent view of justice was broken watching Greg Hartley disallow 3 fair Wests tries and penalise us 3 times whilst in possession on attack during the 78 PF against Manly.

And I'm sure @BZN could elaborate on Darcy Lawlers 7 - 18 penalty count against Wests in 63 and the non awarding of a legitimate Wests penalty try in the bog.

And with salary cap rorts winning starts in the back office.

it's a joke really and they know we keep coming back for more punishment.

In hindsight our season was summed up perfectly in the first ten minutes of round 1 against the Titans...We were hitting the ball up hard, throwing great passes awesome footy to watch....got into a good position with an attacking penalty....and took two points...Titans saw that and ran over us...weak
