This year will be our year for the spoon

sorry guys but i just cant see us finishing in front of anyone
when you take into account
- new coach with a roster he inherited and had no input towards
- injury after injury , we cant say if any of these were avoidable so nobodys fault
- farah and woods will be picked for origin
- benji and lawrence in the worst form of there careers imo
- we cant win the close games and when you are struggling like we are you need to be able to find a way to win the close ones
these are just a few of the obvious issues and i think all the crap going on in the boardroom is rotting the foundation of this club
i will stil support them as much as ever but i am preparing for the worst
a few people on here will point the finger at potter but im prepared to wait another 12 months before judging him
we need some bloody luck to go our way people 😢

I don't think we will get the spoon, but we won't be far off it.

And it's not the injuries. We just don't have structure. Too much adlib touch football won't go anywhere in this comp.

Despite injury after injury and disruption after disruption and the death of a squad member in the preseason and the new coach we have still been competitive and won a couple. I don't think we'll get the spoon and even if we do I think it's understandable.

Winning a spoon could be a blessing in disguise ,especially for our recruiting geniuses

Might finally get the message through that something needs to change

Didn't see the game last night (and not sure I want to watch the replay). But if our penalty count doesn't decrease we will play our way to the spoon

While we all know the Referee's are pretty average, that newbie last night killed us and 1/2 of those penalties would not of been given by an experienced referee.

Trigger Happy to say the least…

The card is marked for this team in regards to the reffs.

You get spanked 3 weeks in a row and it is open season for them to keep doing it.

Still backing the Warriors for the spoon though

wests-tigers will not get the wooden spoon.
whilst now, it is a very hard ask for top 4 or 8, (yes I know dreams are free) the team will finish strong, and we will be very pleased at end of season, with their position on the ladder. considering how the injuries have caused some obstacles.

players to come back from injuries will make a difference , we may not make the 8 but we will upset some teams on the way, i also think we should throw Brooks in now and give him this year to adapt , manly did it with their small bloke so can we

I think probability would dictate we have 0 injuries for the rest of the year which means we should make the 8! Least, that's my super duper optimistic side is saying!

Never know, if we really didnt see any other major injuries we could be facing the Panthers in round 12 with this:

1\. Tedesco
2\. Koroibete
3\. Simona
4\. Brien/Lawrence/Ayshford (no idea about recovery times)
5\. Reddy
6\. Benji
7\. Anasta

And we finally have some real cohesion in the halves and finishing power in the backs through tedesco, koro, simona and maybe brien!

just me thinking optimistically even though the negatives are quite obvious

I hope we can avoid the spoon . I handed quite a few out last year to my good old Parra buddies. Seriously I think we will awaken and the best out of the young guns will be seen. Don't think we will be consistent but will do enough to finish 10 to 14th

I was telling everyone at the pub last night who would listen to put their dough on us getting the spoon. Without the injuries I was considering it, now were specials!
I just can't see where any points are going to come from and our defence is not good enough to grind out wins especially now that our team is going to have so many fresh faces (plus that's just not our go) there are going to be a lot of hard games to watch from here on in. Last night was the first of many.

Our 20s from last year were the best defence in the comp so at least the youngsters who get promoted will have some idea.

They can't still cant table in the 20s.
The truth is we can't tackle and are physically are weak side. Look at manly and souths. We would have lost by 50 against them. They would have bashed up

What this thread tells me is that clearly you don't watch other sides too closely. I think the most obvious point you have failed to recognize is that Penrith will have to win another 2 games in order for us to win the spoon. Its going to take an extremely ordinary football side to finish behind the Mountain men. We have the talent to at least finish in front of them

It is way too early to call it in any fashion. Penrith are an abysmal team reeling from a few injuries as well. Stiffening up our left side will go a long way to beating any side, teams score at will on our left edge. I'd consider playing Reddy at left centre next week if Lawrence doesn't play.

Origin is not really a problem. We will only miss Farah and Woods for a single game and it is against the Warriors. Correct me if I'm wrong
