As much as I dont like the Manly football club, I have to say that without my hatred glasses on I think they are a very talented and strong footy side that wont look out of place with the trophy on sunday night.

It will be a game, IMO, similar to their win in the first round of the finals. I think they win easily.

What do you guys think?

I'm tipping the Warriors, I think they are capable of scoring more points than Manly. Especially if their good luck with dubious tries from kicks continues.

But the referees will determine who wins. A high percentage of tries in the preliminary finals (all of Manly's I think) were scored from close to the line, usually as a result of penalties that moved the attacking team downfield. The referees control the momentum of the game. Watch out for line-ball forward pass rulings and penalties that favour the team that is trailing.

For the good of rugby league and an example to children, I hope the Warriors win, however my head says Manly will win.

It would be a fantastic story if the Warriors won. The club was at depths you would not wish on any club when they tragically lost Sonny Fai two seasons back.

I also think it is time for a team from NZ to win the premiership. Moving forward, big will be powerful in the NRL and the cracks are already starting to appear in some of the smaller clubs. The future of this game is the Brisbanes, North Qlds, Warriors, Melbourne etc. One city teams and large regional areas. Sydney needs to carved up and the dead wood removed.

A Manly victory will just send the message that self interest prevails, regardless of the damage you do to the game. You can show disrespect and insolence, but if you complain enough, eventually you get your way.

I hate Manly as much as the next person, but seriously? A Manly victory will show that they were the better team on the day.

Manly are guilty of being a self interested, whining, grubby pack of scumbags, but you can't honestly say they've done any more damage to the game than say the Roosters in 2009, Melbourne's cap cheating, or going back a little further, the Bulldogs rape case?

The Warriors will win the premiership if they're the better team on the day, not because its "time" for them to or because the majority of the league public want them to.

Exactly, it is a game of football, not a commentry on social standards.

There is a number of likable players in the Manly squad, and a number of players who are not.

The better team will win on the day and as I stated in my post, my head is telling me Manly.

However, I think they have inflicted damage to the game. The pre season launch drinking of 2009, the manner in which they have complained about the suspension of Brett Stewart, constant sniping of Gallop (he required security at Brookvale - disgrace) and the recent brawl with Melbourne. All of these ugly incidents took focus away from what occurs on the field.

Certainly not saying they are worse than the Bulldogs in 2002, but in the past 12-24 months, they have caused issues for rugby league.

Most certainly, but my point is that they're no Robinson Crusoe there either. Melbourne haven't done the game any favours in the same period also (starting in the front office all the way down to the supporter base,) and you could even argue that we are guilty of it as well with what has occurred with Lui and Marshall (not taking into account the results of Lui's first case or Marshall's case,) that's not a good look for the game either.

For mine, Manly's season launch in '09 had nothing on the Roosters behaviour that entire year.

I think the predicted wet weather and slippery conditions will favour the Warriors. With the crowd behind them it will be like a home game.
Go the Warriors!

I hope the warriors win.
would like to see Jamie Lyon put in sin bin for constantly approaching the ref after penalties given to warriors.
whilst he in the bin warriors score and seal a victory.

I with Prattenpark. I think wet weather will suit the Warriors and they will have the crowd support.

James Maloney has been outstanding.

Warriors to win

I think the Warriors will get them, they just have that feel good factor about them than Penrith had in 03 and we had in 05\. Warriors 28 Seagles 18.

Yeh I think so too.

One thing I do like about Manly, probably the only thing…is their defence, they attack with their D, make ground in D at times...its impressive
