A question for Happy and Watto. I remember years ago, seeing somewhere, a fullback with one arm, was he in the Brisbane competition, I can't remember. If so what was his name and who did he play for. What a champion effort, whoever he was.

I thought Wests Magpies had a one-armed player in the minor grades once?

Wrong Happy… The Easts Tigers boys only needed one-arm to tackle those Panthers and Jets pansies!

On a serious note didn't a one armed bloke play for NSW Country in the old city v country games before the City Origin games started

Was a story in the RLW I thought I remembered many years ago

Please I'm not saying the qld comp wasn't strong but it didn't compare to the nsw comp.

You do understand Pre Origin that the NSW team was made up of Qlders because NSW had pokies and we didn't

I agree with Endless passion… The old qld comp was not as good as the old nswrl comp. hence the reason nsw dominated qld pre origin

JT is the most over-rated of all time? Wally shouldnt be an immortal? NSWRL was so dominant before 1980, not because they had a lot of great QLDers in the team, but merely the better comp?

No JT is up there with the best, Wally should be an immortal. Yes NSW did have a team of out-of-staters before 1980 - just like queensland has been doing since SOO started.

They have had more kiwis, PNGians and NSWelshman since then than they have Qlders

Its been a complete reversal

Have you watched the cowboys this year? He's a huge reason for their demise. Playing well in a team of superstars doesn't change the fact that he's way out of form.

That's exactly what I'm saying. The elite players play well even when the rest of the team isn't. Thurston has been average all year except game II and III.
