Tiger Tui must be patient...Not back to at least Rd 4

Is there anything official anywhere confirming that Tupou will be moving permanently to the forwards?

Not that the club has mentioned but wait until the trials, he'll be in the engine room. Ryan, Pritchard, Brown and Daniela will be the wing options.

I dont think we'll see Tame on the wing anymore.

100% BoB - Sheens pretty much confirmid this in Media over the Last few days.

PS Love the Black / Orange Southern Cross - Very timley with the discussions re changing the Aussie flag.

**TUIAKI TO UNDERGO MINOR SURGERY**
Wednesday, 27 January 2010
>
Wests Tigers winger Taniela Tuiaki will undergo minor surgery on Monday, February 1, on an ankle injury.
>
Tuiaki suffered a broken ankle in the round 24 loss to Parramatta at the Sydney Football Stadium. The season ending injury was a cruel blow to not only the team but denied Tuiaki a Four Nations tour with the Kiwis and the chance to finish as the competition’s leading tryscorer.
>
Tuiaki finised with a club record 21 tries for the 2009 season and is one try behind equaling the club record of 43 set by Daniel Fitzhenry, who returns to Wests Tigers this season after two years playing for Hull KR.
>
“Although the initial surgery went well and he has been working very hard on his rehab, the latest medical opinion suggests Taniela would benefit from a minor follow up procedure to assist his recovery,’’ Wests Tigers CEO Stephen Humphreys said.

Im gonna take a wild stab in the dark and say Taniela wont be back till round 12.

I agree BB, I wouldn't be surprise that the "he will be back next week" statements to start from Rd 7 and he will be back in Rd 18…..hope not, but I wouldn't be surprised

Spoke to a guy that comes into my work who is an avid Tigers fan like myself this morning.

During our usual chit chat he said he ran into a senior member of the coaching staff whilst on holidays over xmas.
Was talking about the team in general and he asked him about Tuiaki. Coaching member said he is due for another op in the new year (it will make 4!) and said if this one doesn't work he is 50-50 chance of ever playing again! he said he has hardly any feeling in his foot and can't move it properly. Also said it'll be a big shame cause he such a nice, quietly spoken guy that everyone enjoys having around.

thought I'd post this, not trying to stir sh1t but just passing info on.

4 what?

Ops since he broke it last year?

i think you've been had mate.

At most i think Tuiaki will be otu till round 5 or 6.

But how many times have we heard at this club that a player will be back in a couple of weeks, and a couple of weeks later they say a couple more weeks.

I cant remember who it was (either O'Hara or D. Galea) got an injury and almost every week Sheens said he will be back next week, but didnt end up playing again that season.

keep going.. u wont see Tui back before mid season at best

more like end of

I have it on good authority that Tuiaki is having surgery on his foot/ankle today. I am not sure how this will effect his return date to the field.

Well I have not bothered with that site for a while but no that was not it, someone much closer to the action. During the procedure actually…

either way whoever replaces him on the wing for the first month or so has defensive problems and drops bombs could be a worry its the only worry I have now in this off season
