Tigers After Beau Scott

Wouldn't mind him, the guy is one of the hardest hitters in the game, sure his attack is poor, but he would be one of the best defenders in the NRL.

Can't believe everyone has missed the key part of that article. We are competing with Parra for Scotts signature but they might dip out because they are after JWH…...

The answer is get JWH instead of Scott. he would be cheaper and a better fit for us. Now hang on....I know he is a lunatic and the Tigers seemingly have a no d***heads policy, but lets consider what they both offer.

Scott = hard working good defender (dime a dozen to be honest), current SOO and big bucks.
JWH = Hard hitter with a ton of aggression which is something we lack, would be cheaper.

Sometimes my barometer for who I'd like at the Tigers is as simple as who I fear when the Tigers play them. In any game against the Roosters I get nervous when JWH is on the field.

Dwyer in the centres would be interesting.

More interesting that Beau Scott.

Christ, I sound like Demps re Luke Burt…

Every one is hoping Simon Dwyer recovers and can play NRL again.

Would be a remarkable recovery.

I don't doubt his courage and determination but we need to make plans incase he is not available.

Given the talent coming through the ranks which may be a couple of years away from NRL maybe we can consider a player with experience near the end of their career who we can sign for 2 years. Don't have any specific players in mind.

Ellis will go down as one of the greats of the club and hope we can send him home a winner.

I hope BMM steps up as he does have ability. Maybe he needs to lose a couple of kilos

It will be interesting to watch young Jack Spencers development at lock for BRET this season

Not liking what I'm seeing so far Smeg. He's pretty small and was cannonfodder against Newtown the other week.

Whoever we get to replace Ellis, we have to remember one thing, we cant compare this guy to Ellis. There is only one Gareth Ellis, he is irreplaceable. Whoever we look has to be on their own merits and not as a comparison to Gareth Ellis.

A lot of massive talent and massive humans coming off contract for the Warriors NRL & NYC at seasons end.

could place to start looking, far cheaper than B Scott as well

warriors have loads of talent and big boys coming through , would be cheap and they probably would like to have time living here , and a quality club to go to

Three little words "Sonny Bill Williams".

Can play lock, second row or centre. Hits like a sledge hammer and is a devastating runner.

yeah… tough footballer but not what we are looking for. More importantly, we wouldnt get the value out of what he is probably asking. I think we just need to relax and wait for now and see what happens.

I'd go after JWH like Glenn says, as he would be perfect off the bench and alot cheaper!

Besides G Stewart nobody on that list has Ellis's hunger or 80 min effort. JWH is a bench player, im sure they've re-signed him but Joel Edwards could become an Ellis type player. Otherwise I say we promote from within.
