Tigers announce new signings/ re-signing

I'm assuming he'll still be a dude, unless he does a Bruce Jenner.

Seriously though, Bp you say he's a dud, yet he's taken 2 different NRL sides to the finals. Duds don't do that.

Add to that, the guy hasn't even had the freedom to have the side he wants thanks to the cap.

But these things are irrelevant apparently because he's a dud. The way some of you carry on, its like you have a personal grudge against the guy.

If we were smart and punted JT for the Walker Brothers as coach we have two players that suit their system down to the ground. Would still be cheaper to punt JT (who has the full support of the board, famous last words), hire the Walker Brothers (who have modern game plans and actually would make watching football fun again) than to pay a lot of money for Robbie to play elsewhere (think he would like the style of footy the Walker Brothers play).

Said if before punting JT for the Walker Brothers is win win for the club in my view.

I love it!

A good news discussion turned around for more Taylor hate. God help us.

God help us. Get rid of Taylor for two guys who have not coached at NRL level, so have no experience at all, a radical way of coaching - also unproven at NRL level.

Give us a break - hate is one thing - to come up with an idea like this is another.

I would tell you how effective the Walker Bros. style of football would be in the NRL - their team would be smashed to a pulp - they run 4 times further than an NRL team - unfortunately it is side ways. Players like Beau Scott etc. would think they were having a field day.

The best I can suggest SCT is get a big jar - fill it with all your Taylor hate - save it up and pour it all over our first top eight final opponent in 2016.

The Walker brothers are the flavour of the month on the forum because people seem to think its this clubs God given right to play expansive, and that there are no alternatives to being successful. The truth is, the style that made us, at the same time destroyed us. We were on dimensional and by the end of the Sheens era it had run its course. Do i agree with ''Taylor ball''? No, but at least he was trying something, and the culture does need to be changed, he was at least right about that. We've always been soft.

I found something pretty random last night. During a Youtube session i was watching Noel Gallagher clips, and i just happened to come across one where he was being interviewed about Soccer. He's a big Man City fan, and he was talking about where they were at when this interview took place. This was about 2009\. Anyway, what he said, just summed what this club needs to do.

SORRY mqagpiecol but JT is a failure and no matter how long u give him he will still be a dude, he really needs to go and i hope there is a clause that gets him sacked mid season.

Explain to me, ( after reading my previous post ) how exactly is he a failure. Just because you say it, does not make it so.

Be fair for God's sake.

Results our lack thereof speak for themselves. Even JT's spin team can't save him.

I want it now!!!

No…bugger that.

I want it yesterday, immdeiate results....stuff working for it, just give it to me...right NOW!

I actually really hope that Jason Taylor turns it around, I however highly doubt what my knowledge of rugby league (albeit it only as a junior player and spectator for over 30 years) is telling me that his game plans and coaching style wont work. **_I strongly think the board with their limited rugby league knowledge being advised by Grant Mayer appointed a dud of a coach, nothing he did in the first year has proven me wrong._** Again I hope he has a far better second year but can't see it.

Yes …. It certainly looks that way. I knew once the new board was appointed, Mayers days were numbered. Appears he has given us a lasting legacy :frowning:

Rod Griffin (Wests Tigers)

Dubbed 'Rod the Bod', the hard-as-nails middle forward capable of playing 160 minutes if required, Griffin finally gets a shot in the NRL after a previous stint with the Tigers almost a decade ago. In the time since he has spent time with Wynnum Manly, Northern Pride, Tweed Heads and Ipswich in the Intrust Super Cup as well as representing his country of birth, Papua New Guinea, on nine occasions. Loves an offload and will be 29 by the time the NRL begins next season.

Sattler says: "The interchange rule has come at the perfect time for him. If the interchange rule went down to six this guy would be starting in an NRL team next year. His greatest capacity is to go for long periods of time and stay in the face of the defence. Yes, he's not 6-foot-3 like a lot of clubs want but he'll still be churning out really big yards at the 78-minute mark."

Billy McConnachie (Wests Tigers)

The man they call 'Madness' was spotted by the Walker brothers playing in a Murri carnival in Ipswich three years ago and after a season disrupted by injury last year got better and better the longer 2015 went on. A devastating runner of the football and bone-rattling defender, McConnachie left Mt Isa behind in search of an opportunity and will live with Griffin as the pair look to make their mark with the Tigers.

Sattler says: "Billy McConnachie reminds me of Martin Lang; his first run in the first set of the game is going to be the same intensity as the run in the last set of the game. He's a guy with what I like to call the 'Where is he?' factor. Ruben Wiki and Gorden Tallis had it; where is he in the defensive line or where is he about to run onto the ball? You're always looking for where those guys are because wherever those guys are, you don't want to be."

As I have said before….I am more than happy with these two boys plying their trade in the middle next year....they will up the ante for forward positions and there are more of them already signed who are quite capable of doing likewise in other positions. The coach and hooker being civil to each other will be a big factor in how we go next year but I have my fingers and toes crossed that next year they will both be amicable to each other for the sake of our great team. :sign:

Good insight dude. That's what we all want.

Lol, I agree, it's well overdue. Give it to us…. NOW( Finals footy next year for sure) 😛ray:

Let's hope they each put their egos to sleep and concentrate on good football for the benefit of the team not just themselves - otherwise it will be a disastrous 2016 for the team (and the loyal fans).

Matt Ballin has signed with us but not much talk within the forum about the signing.
The writing is on the wall now for Farah.
