Lol all the "Tigers" supporters are threatening to revoke their memberships over this. LMAO i think it's more of the supporters wanting to see a fairytale end for Marshall then thinking about what's best for the club. I for one do not want to hear if people saying they will not ve renewing over this.

What’s sad is that (according to the report) Madge came over believing in the Roster and I don’t blame him at their best they are very good, but he severely underestimated the culture and attitude of a lot of those players and no Wants to move them on. Shows how bad it is at the club.

It's a sad day isn't it? I love the guy and I've put forward on here that he should be considered as an immortal. People forget how incredible he was a decade ago. He was awesome.

I'm extremely disappointed that this leaked. It's unbelievable that not only a journalist found out before Marshall (apparently) but that the media would then publish it before the club could announce the news. Anything for a scoop huh.

Called it a while ago Marshall wanted to play on but wouldn't be at Wests Tigers..

The Club has acted well here so it wouldn't become a circus...letting it drag on like Cammy would not have ended well..

Everyone knows where they stand ..Marshall has been a great servant for us ..I think all fans appreciate what he has done..

I think Benji deserves one more year as a squad player and I think they could have made it work. We may have a stack of halves, but Benji's in the team again this week and he's at least our second best one. I dunno, I'm just sad to see him go. Being a Balmain fan of the 90s I'd never seen someone with such speed, creativity and flair. He totally changed the way we played and it was entertaining and brilliant, even when it wasn't. I'm particularly disappointed because I don't think he's asking for much or wanting more than a squad position and he obviously loves the club. I just respect that humility and we're not going anywhere next year. It says a lot that he called Bennett and not someone from the club or our past, I don't think we've really ever provided someone who gave strong leadership. It's a sad way to go out, sad he never got better times again at this club. The statement by the club is fine, despite not being handled all that well, and I understand why they're doing it, I just think Benji means a bit more than a pragmatic squad decision move and he's still potentially our best player next year.

I have no doubt Benji had Madge convinced to go again, but sanity has prevailed in the end.
I have said for ages Madge has a Benji fascination, a hard nose coach would have dropped Benji for good after the pathetic effort he put in against the knights in his and Rowdy's 250th game.
Yet he hasn't had a good game since and is still in the team, while others are dropped, Rowdy hasn't played since, others have come and gone, but Benji is still there, and would have been again next year.
