Tigers delay call on Sheens

Wests Tigers have delayed making a call on coach Tim Sheens' expected departure from the NRL club.

An anticipated board meeting at the club's Concord headquarters failed to materialise on Monday night - with the end of season review triggered by the side's dismal 2012 showing set to continue in the coming days.

The delay is unlikely to save Sheens' position however, which appears to have become untenable following a backlash from players upset at the player cleanout being undertaken by the club.

It is believed the Tigers are working on a financial settlement with the four-time premiership-winning mentor, who has two years remaining on his contract believed to be worth $450,000 a season.

The cash-strapped joint venture would struggle to pay out the deal in full as well as find the funds to hire a replacement coach.

Manly assistant coach Matt Parish, who had a brief yet unsuccessful head coaching stint with English Super League club Salford last year, is the favourite to replace Sheens.

I just get the feeling that this is gonna go all arse up and we'll end up being stuck with him

If that happens we will be left with Benji,Rowdy ,Blair,Lote and the BRET side in 2013

How do we have no money? We're like the most marketable club in the league, with a host of stars and players on tv. good in the community. finals last two years. good crowds, sponsors seemingly wanting to be with us.

where is the money getting wasted!?

we need sheens out now. do a chip around with the players, i'm sure they'll mostly chip in to get rid of him!

Most clubs are in trouble BB

The only successful club that comes to mind is Brisbane

But look at their circumstances , 1 club in a city of close to 2 million

We need to find out why AFL clubs can in the most be successful , yet NRL clubs not
