It takes a generation for this type of change to take. We are just about half way. There is a huge history of both clubs. The Wests Tigers are the future but change takes time. We have done well up until this point as far as the merger goes. Let us all work together for the one united club the Wests Tigers.

Hear, hear, Mike!

I agree its a generational thing but in the case of WT it would also be hotly debated and determined for the issue of ownership (who and whom) and key contributor if WT fell in the red.

You're crazy if you expect people in their 40's or 50's or even older to just forget about the club they supported for over half their lives

Agreed GNR but I'd rather support wests tigers then western suburbs eels or parramatta tigers I which case I'd wouldn't be supporting a team at all

Very few care about the old entitys…..**.in 5 or 7 years time the junior rep teams will likely be WTs too...
Who wnats to be a member of a club whos teams are high school kids, most of us will or have been there at some stage as parents, wether it be RL or whatever other pursuits the kids follow**....and believe me you have to pay THEN

if you're trying to say no one will care about BT or WSM in 5-7 years, then i agree with you 100%

idk why many dont understand this.
i just wish balmain tigers and western suburbs magpies just disapperar… just run away, fly away.
i dont give two craps about what benny is doing
i dont give twp craps about what tommy is doing

for people who do.. there should be a separate website called http://www.balmaintigersforum.com or http://www.westernsuburbsmagpiesforum.com

i like heritage, but not when it causes division. THIS is causing division.

CB's sig... 210 years of heritage.. watta loada BS. we have 12 years of heritage.

that's just my opinion and many oldies and maybe many young un's will disagreee though.. but i just wish it was this way :frowning:

I know you're young so let me put this to you. Imagine in 30 yrs the WT merge with the Panthers. Would you be happy for that new club to forge a new identity and WT be totally forgotten, or would you want to see as much of the team you followed for so long represented in the new JV?
Then imagine someone saying they didn't care about Benji or Robbie. Would that be right?

I understand GNR, I'm 39 and originally a Balmain fan, I've learnt to accept the changes and have my heart and soul set with WT. we are not all the same and it will take time for other people to accept and adapt. It will eventually happen!!

The league can't possibly screw us again in 30 years time???
In 30 years I'll be Rollin in my grave…. Too bad I won't be able to post my disgust on this great forum!!

No ones saying to do that…...it lives on in your heart, mind and your memories, it will forever be alive to me
But its nothing more than nostalgia....there is nothing much tangible NOW, and will be even less in future.

Things change, they always do...you need to change to grow and survive, prosper

We all reember our first loves.....most .....but its mind heart and soul, nothing physical anymore - theres the point.
The physical, the tangible, the NOW is Wests Tigers 2012/2013 and onwards------------>>>>>>>>>>

GNR…..if, "in 30 yrs the WT merge with the Panthers"...would you forget this year?
Would you forget '10 & '11?
The GF in '05?
Fitzy?
Moltz?
Skando?
Buckets?
Whitelegs?

Its up to the INDIVIDUAL if its forgotten, but theres always the history books....theyre always their preserved in time.

see:

Annandale 6 Wests 11
Player T G FG Pts Player T G FG Pts
Lyall Wall 3 6 Harold Bissett 1 3
R Steward 1 3
Westley Easterbrook 1 3
W Foord 1 2
3 6 3 1 11
Referee: Horrie Millington Venue: Pratten Date: **14-Jun-1913**>

contrary to what Ink thinks, i dont care about what individuals think.

what i care about is the board being divided into 5 balmain guys and 5 magpies guys.
when curtis came on, paul "advising" the team to keep him at 5/8.
etc etc

fact: balmain and mapies were struggling, what WT gave them, was a NEW team they could look FORWARD to in the future. im a fan of WT on fb and i usually skip over things about balmain or magpies, but when i do look at the comments, it's all about butthurt pies or balmain guys having a go at each other.

what the club does, is provide ammo to them.

i have no problems with individuals reminscing, being nostalgic etc. and sorry for sounding that way. the part about diff forums, i guess was a little immature and stupid of me to say, since the club dont have anything to do about it.

I am not sure if i should tag this on to here but i think its relevant.
One of my mates not a wt fan…had a chat with a West Ashfield board member who claims that Balmain can't front up their half of the running cost of WT.
Wests are considering taking over the franchise and they either started or are about to start talking to the NRL to about moving the franchise to WA.
He also confirmed that Benji has talked to the dragons....

Benji talking to the Dragons before November 1 is not allowed is it?

_Benji to Dragons_ … me not happy, few tears, life goes on >> go the Tigers!

_Tigers to W.A_...>>> **R E V O L U T I O N** :imp:

As a fan that has really no attachment to the area the team represents but being from Northern NSW adopted them as my own as a three year old I really can see the benefit of the Tigers going to Perth tbqh. As I said I am not from Sydney so I obviously don't speak for all.
