Cochise makes a fair point. Sorry don’t know how to reply. However I understand that our membership is sitting at around 20000 so it confuses me why that at what would be one of our more premier home games on a Friday night could only fetch nine. There are also people who just buy traditional tickets so it’s just a bit baffling to me. Same with Campbelltown against titans and roosters.

10 seasons without finals is really hurting us and the form this year has left a lot to be desired. Who wants to travel to Bankwest on a cold Friday night for some of the rubbish we have been dishing up. I had to attend the game by myself because I couldn't find anyone to use my spare tickets.

7k last Friday night ?
Is that right ?

Over 9K

if we go there full time we die as a club

There is no evidence to suggest that is even close to being true.

we would likely have to share with Bulldogs if a Liverpool stadium was built
if we are sharing we may aswell keep bankwest.
It would make more sense if COE at Concord to take ANZ

Except ANZ is massively too big and not fit for purpose.

Love ANZ, nothing wrong with it.

Except on average 3/4 of the seats are empty, that means every person that attends has 4 seats. The atmosphere is terrible until you are pushing 30k, you are so far from the action there is a disconnect between the game and the crowd which courses many people to watch the game on the screens, the sightlines are poor due to the poor gradient of the seating and the place is an oval. It is also in the middle of nowhere with nothing around the venue pre or post game.

We would also be sharing with 2 other teams so that is a problem for many, I actually don't see what is right with it apart from being close to Ashfield.

It’s never too late to start though. imo.

It’s much better than BankWest. Don’t get the appeal at all. Why is one half of the stadium only designated to corporates? The place is so overrated.

I absolutely hate sitting on the eastern side of any stadium, especially when the western side is completely empty.

It’s one thing you don’t realise watching on TV. It’s only when you get there. They disguise it very well.

There is plenty of evidence. Wests Magpies failed SW Sydney as did Wests Tigers. No need to try a third time. Liverpool would be a disaster. Accept that we are an inner city club, born from inner city teams. COE is nearby. Headquarters (Wests Ashfield) is inner city. We are not and never will be a Liverpool club.

Atmosphere is what you make it. I’ve been at Stadium Australia when it was practically empty with a dozen fanatics sitting behind the goal posts. They filled the stadium with atmosphere by chanting, yelling and participating. The only time it’s dead is when we are losing resulting with the crowd being silent.

Mate, I've been the only person in my entire row on many occasions at ANZ, it is a joke it is used for any club games at all. Worst stadium I have ever been to.

Winning does definitely change everything in regards to crowd numbers however convenience of travel and nearby facilities does as well. People want to be able to get to games easily via a variety of travel options or not be stuck in huge lines of traffic or struggle to find parking.

People also don't want to miss half the game waiting in ridiculously long food and beverage lines. Whilst I love Leichhardt Oval matches, on a busy day you can literally get stuck in a beer line for 30mins or more. If you're with a mate you barely see them the entire match as one is always in the line waiting.

Lastly not everyone enjoys the old suburban grounds (I love them so that's not my argument). Many people I speak to refuse to watch matches at the old grounds due to lack of actual physical seating and poor viewing.

Obviously none of this is related to the identity of the club and the need for a sole venue to create a unified identity however all these factors contribute to crowd numbers. Sure the diehards will still attend matches regardless of where they're held but they're not the ones the club needs to worry about attracting. It's the families with young kids, the elderly or less mobile and the fence sitters who all crave convenience and premium facilities over nostalgia.

These people will argue "Why would I go to a Leichhardt match, with basically zero parking nearby, possibly have to stand the entire match and possibly not be able to see much and possibly have to line up for food/drinks for half the match when I can go to Bankwest and have premium seating anywhere in the stadium, short food and beverage lines and multiple travel options within touching distance".

100%, unless it's an Easter Monday match or a finals match its completely rubbish. Even Easter Monday this year was terrible compared to a couple of years ago at Bankwest (Don't mention the score as we got hammered that year).

Win and they will come. No doubt though that the fans have been repeatedly let down eg. our performances at LO and against the Titans were a huge middle finger to paying customers. If that was a restaurant, for example, and the service was that bad, would you go back?

There was only really 7000 in that stadium last week. It was empty.

We need our own stadium and play a game a year each at LO, Campbo and Tamworth. But perhaps we need the revenue from all of those home grounds we play at at the moment.

That’s what’s good about ANZ ..
Buy a GA ticket and I sit pretty much anywhere I want ..
Many times we’ve snuck into the corporates or a better area .
Who the hell buys a single ticket and sits by themselves ?
You gotta mingle ..
