Tigers juniors in comparison to other clubs

Hi,

I haven't had a chance to watch the tigers NYC team play however from all accounts on this forum there is a lot to look forward to, however they are running 6th at the moment and does that mean clubs above the tigers in the NYC ladder have brighter prospects? i.e. Warriors, Cowboys and Storm?

Appreciate it,
J

Hi J,

Can't give too many details as have only watched a few 20s games however our 20s prob ably have as much or more potential as the top few teams. Yes we are coming 6th but part of that is around the fact some of our players haven't played full seasons. In the last 5 or so weeks we have really seen the team step up beating 2 of the top 3 only loosing to the Warriors. Tedesco at Fb, Koribebte on the wing, Noafoluma on the other wing all only joined the team in the last 5 weeks or so coming in from the next level down as 2 of them are only 17\. Also we have had Simona up in FG as you've seen, Miller in FG a bit , Sironen who again is only 18 has been out playing schoolboy reps some weeks and Murdoch Masiala only came into the squad late after missing the off seasona and first 6 or so weeks out. In the U20s its really important to identify players more then teams so much as a lot of players even at the best clubs will not go onto to NRL. We probably have about 10 blokes who could go onto the NRL which is huge.

We will know more after the cowboys game on Saturday.

When they made the Grand Final in 2009 they only had one player who went straight into the team after SG Ball ….Joel Wisby.

In 2010 they also had only one..Curtis Sironen...who made his debut in round 23\. Not even Matt Groat got a run after he finished SG Ball.

This year we have 4 SG Ball eligible players including Sironen + Tedesco, Noafoluma and Lovett who have been in the team from round 11- 12.
