Tigers looking to buy back-up

No a prop like Clinton won't make a major difference….but it could make enough to help us win a few more games and stop massive points rorts...considering we are probably aiming for a fringe top 8 spot, a prop like Shackleton/Clinton/Rose is definitely worth the risk IMO.

Sitting just 1 win outside the top 8 at the end of the year is torture.

So what is the problem Wests Tigers having been having in buying a prop for this year?

No props are being released from contracts/our recruitment department.. enough said about them.

If we can hang out for a mid-season transfer, that could be our only option at this stage

Not sure if this is covered in this or other threads but I see Shackleton is playing for Mounties today so maybe we can take him out of the equation for a front rower in 2013?

The season is four weeks old and from our efforts against two of the fancied sides it is obvious that a Joel Clinton,Shackelton or Rose is not going to make any major difference.

So rather than waste money on a player who will probably not make a major difference, start looking at what elite players you may be able to attract to the club in 2014 who will make a difference.Groat will be back soon and Gavert maybe about 8 weeks away. So I say give the kids a go in the meantime, rotate them so they dont burn out and see what you come up with.It has to be a smarter move than trying to reinvent or turn the clock back on a old front rower who is in semi retirement.

Agree with this..but our Recruitment Manager likes journeymen ..or end of career players.. our last Big signing was Blair. LOL..so maybe McDonnell should not be involved in who we buy.

Recruitment managers job at WT is to bring youngsters to the club and get the players the coach wants. Warren has a much bigger influence on our NYC then NRL side

Tigers after Kennedy?

On another thread, Kennedy denied he was moving to the Tigers via his twitter account, and specifically mentioned the Lurker, if that where tis info came from. All false according to Kennedy. What a shame, would have been a good pickup.

Making The Nut Rumour Mill predicts George Rose signing is around the corner. Not always on the money but a rumour is a rumour.

Manly prop George Rose will be playing for the Tigers within weeks.

Hopefully the butterball is made to walk to training then.

I don't mind George. I watched the Tigers play Manly at Bluetongue (maybe 2011) and George steamrolled us, and this was the pack that had Gareth leading us into battle. We won that game

George would work wonders for our attack with Teddy sniffing for an offload,I would take him,he has a point to prove.

Chist, how many of these rumour websites exist?

Should I even ask what the hell the lurker is?

Not sure but lurker sounds like he could be a good cover defender

And Rosey is a character - Something I think we need at our club, to lighten the mood, & calm down the youngsters! Would take him over Big Willy, anyday of the Week….

Have you ever looked at Georges previous tweets about the tigers? Let's just say he speaks about our team in less than complimentary language.

If he comes here he will be eating his words…...on top of the three chickens and two wild pigs on a spit that he normally eats in a day!
