Tigers Miller on Gold Coasts Radar

it seemed only weeks ago we were all talking about giving miller enough time in the halves to establish himself, now a few are already calling for the next big thing to come in?

how about we give miller a year? if he is rubbish we'll find out then gold coast (or who ever) can take him.

That will also give a year to the young lads in NYC to get better and bigger.

JUst on a side note considering this topic is about Miller - i went to the Aust Schoolboy championships this year solely to see Moses play because of all the hype - he was good, very good but i came away far more impressed with Brooks - both have huge potential but give them at least one full year in NYC.
On Miller - i would be extremely angry if WT released him from his final year.

I agree with you.

A mate of mine was involved with the IAS team and I watched a few of the games on DVD that they had from the tourny, and I was the same as you, Id seen a bit of Moses and was impressed and had not really seen much of Brooks (despite hearing good things) after watching those games I thought Brooks looked the far better of the 2, and Moses was excellent.
I try and watch alot of the schoolboy rep stuff and as a half, I reckon he is the best I can remember ( I may have been a bit biased given he is a tiger), but he seems a great prospect.
He seems to have a good build that could be easily NRL ready sooner rather than later. I think it is unlikely he will play NRL in 2013, but not impossible.
Moses looks to me, to have a light frame and he will have to work hard to be physically up to NRL, has the talent, but that is my question on him.

Lol we'll see. I'd like to throw a lazy tenner on Brooks playing first grade in 2013 tbh. Anyone want to offer some odds?

I'd go you evens but Id probably forget all about it, and im the one that'll need to remember.

Hmmmm I'm not THAT confident.

Its interesting you mention Brook's build - i remember writing on the forum at the time of the championships that he was built like the classic HB - short and stocky - i think i said his build reminded me of Matt Orford.

The reason NSW cannot manufacture halfbacks is because of our junior system .in queensland a halfback plays halfback, not first reciever where he has to pass the ball or its a turnover if caught .
Miller is contracted to Wests , so whats the big deal ? if he performs this season then we upgrade him , if he dosent we lose absolutely nothing .

I think thats garbage…though unsure on Jnr QRL rules.
8 yo's having to pass and not play is not a reason for a lack of halfbacks
Theyre still learning basics....international rules begin at 13s.
**10m rules killed halves**

Yep….that and too many interchanges allowed. Too many fresh big blokes to tackle and run at

Yep Totally agree The game should be working its way to six interchanges and one replacement player that can be used for serious injury replacements

But to change it up slightly you can have a seven man bench , so you are not restricted to having 3 forwards and one utility to cover for backs injuries

But as Mac and I have been saying ,Brooks will play first grade in 2013
