Tigers prepare to dump Benji Marshall for Luke Brooks

All he has to do is put in a few decent kicks and pass at his teammates' chests and he'll outperform Marshall. The benefits of playing him this year before next year are HUGE.

A debut against parra in a match that doesn't matter vs round 1 next year with the pressure of the entire fanbase on his shoulders.

Agree , but I think both Luani or Brooks need to avoid the Souths and Roosters games at all costs

Definitely, especially given brooks' smaller physique, he would get destroyed by their forwards. Hoping both debut but don't see it happening.

Do people see Luani or Cherrington as the likely full-time replacement once Farah retires? Or adopt the Storm's tactic and use Luani as a backrower who can also fill in as a utility?

Won't happen! Benji will never get dropped, should of happen 2 years ago why now. He & his boys club will put in another pea hearted performance and we'll get rolled by Parra. So all the pressure will be back on poor Potter.

I can't see it happening but maybe the media is being used to warn Benji that if he doesn't have a go then he will be dropped and won't make the 200 games, not a bad way to go about it, use the media to reinforce Benji's poor form and how the club needs to bring up a young bloke because the star isn't performing then if it has to happen the blame isn't all the clubs.

At the moment all the negativity is with Marshall & Tauber, the club in this whole mess is looking OK - so to speak.
If Potter were to dump him for the rest of the year, all the negativity would shift to the club ("Look at how hes been treated blah blah")

Plus as Paris mentioned, Brooks' clearance and Marshall being dumped have no connection

Media beat up imo

Most of the league would probably congratulate Potter for doing it
Fair Dinkum….I was at the Broncos game in Bris. and the Titans Game last Sunday, and if Potter had given the Corner Post the no 6 jumper, it would have had more involvement in the game than it did on Benjii's back. He's got to go now!!!!
I'm still a bit worried about the hype on these young kids though. Young Brooks had a few problems in defence last Sunday and was pushed off or fell off tackles a bit too easily.
I hope the bagging doesnt start if he does play and not go well, Give him time to get used to it

Anything to get him to pull his finger out,if so it's a great idea,he is tarnishing his whole career with these pea hearted performances,so is Anasta, and Ayshford didn't have much cred to lose.

I am less likely to attend a game with Marshall playing then Brooks

Apart from Parramatta supporters not too many supporters would pay their hard earned cash to watch Benji play another match like last Sunday's.

Why drop Benji,
If he gets dropped he's just going to go back and have a big game in the NSW Cup, and then just go on about being dropped because Potter's got sour grapes.
I say let him play and watch the Parra halves ( whoever they are ) make him look like a NSW Cup player.
Let the Blues see what they've paid for.

perfect time for Brooks,no benji and no Farah. So he gets to drive the car by himself, without wondering if he should give it Marshall. He now can be his own man.

Although I have my doubts they would flick Benji or even bench him,sad because he dosnt want to be their and is playing like a bad A grader

Brooks. Sironen etc are this club's future. Marshall is this club's history. No time for sentiment. Drop Marshall and send him back to NZ and give our younger guys a run. Easy.

I feel brooks will bring more people than benji to a game. I will say it right now if he is announced in the team I will be down watching but if not i will stay home sick of the benji show (and I was a huge fan, I was blind but now I see)

Benji will never play NSW cup. His ego won't allow it, particularly as he's only got a few games left in the sport. He will be named in firsts, and either play or mysteriously get injured on the weekend.

Brooks is under little pressure, only by name of replacing Benji due to the media, but within the squad and fans his performance he will be an improvement regardless of how well he performs!

Like when anyone finishes up at a job, there is a 4 week crossover period where the departing employee walks through their role with the replacement.

Benji should be spending the next 4 weeks with Brooks 24/7 and guiding him through this critical period.

Don't really want Benji having anything to do with Brooks TBH. Benji is already in retirement mode with his slippers on and feet up, don't really want anybody who can only be bothered to run the ball twice in 80 minutes of football teaching young Brooks in any way shape or form.
He is obviously peed off with the club and is only out on the field (in body at least) sucking up his last 4 games so his huge ego can add a 200-game milestone to his list of achievements. Was originally disappointed in seeing Benji leave our club but after last week's spineless, gutless effort can't wait to see the back of the overhyped, egotistical muppet.
For all of Moltzen's faults and abuse that he cops at least he has more of a dig than just 2 ineffectual runs in a game. Get Benji outta the team ASAP, he offers nothing now that his head and heart are elsewhere, even if we don't promote Brooks in the coming weeks.

Yeah, spot on Patty!

And don't forget to front the media every week during the season and say " I know my form hasn't been as good as I have wanted it to be but I will play much better this week" :unamused:
The Tigers are the undisputed kings of empty promises in regards to this.

It shouldnt happen for a couple of reasons
1\. Marshall has been a great servent and deserves to go out in a good way
**2\. Benji will bring in bums on seats for his final games and we need the cash**
3\. It makes the pressure on brooks if he is not only playing but replacing marshall too much - its going to be extreme anyway but imagine the presure and likely interaction with teammates if he replaces benji
4\. We are already loosing Robbie next week , too much to also loose benji

Reasons it should happen
1\. Benji has been horrible out of form and is getting worse

I have major issues with #2\. If fans of the club are only turning up to see ONE player out of 17, it's a little sad. No one player is bigger than the club and whether Benji is playing or not, our crowds haven't been very good this year

Doesnt matter if 100 or 20,000 turn up…we still get the same gate $$$ from our last 2 home games
Theyre pay to play games - Allianz

potter does not have the balls to drop benji and anasta me thinks, so i think we are stuck with both till seasons end.
But it would be good to see him grow a spine and just do it, maybe even nikey might sign u up for there add JUST DO IT!!!

While I agree that Marshall should be on the sideline for the rest of the season, why do we dump him for Brooks, I thought Brooks was a half back.
