Tigers Present & Future looks Ordinary.

Tigers are cactus. At the moment I think they are the worst side in the competition. At least half of the top squad are not good enough to get the Tigers into the top 8\. Team is made up of young inexperienced players with unknown potential & below average seasoned, experienced players who would struggle to make first grade at any other club. This roster does not have the natural talent to make the finals let alone win a comp. Coach Taylor is up against it. I would back Taylor to see out his 3 year contract as long as he sets about completing an overhaul of the roster ie goodbye most players who come off contract.

Good point, Brian Smith would have done it 1-2\. Funny, when you bring up these points, maybe Brian Smith was the better option. I will be honest, I was not for Smith joining, but he definitively gets teams re-shaped quickly.

In a very very competive players market, how do we afford and attract halve a dozen players to our club who are at the required standard?????

That is why he is trying to develope the players we have, but at this stage things are not great but let's see where we are at in 12months.

One thing that will be interesting is, after the bad publicity from the media and the punters after Friday's night game, will Taylor change things up a little or persist with the slow grind????

Taylor will have to get his act together or he will be looking for a new job , he is now under pressure just to put a decent game plan together this is how he has let things slip. This is a bad situation for him as Saturday night has effectively undermined what he was working towards .This is a results based game and the stakes are high this is not the 70s or 80s he will only be given a limited amount of time to get things back on track,do we think that after Saturday night there will not be talks at Concord today about the reaction to the worse game that I and others can ever remember attending and I have been to some bad ones.
Good luck coach you are going to need it IMO.

Brian Smith??? He was the idiot that started this whole mess last year. Actually, our CEO was the instigator, but it was Smith's report on how we were travelling in his eyes that brought the team and the club undone.

Real question is how long can we continue to be a basket case??

I called for the club to consider going to Perth last year. Not because I want them to in any way however I just saw it as a viable option.

How long can we go on not attracting any players, losing matches, finishing bottom 4 and attracting sub 10 K crowds.

I am sure the club is losing more and more money every year and the NRL are already propping us up.

We keep going along this line to no where and it won't be long before we are put out of our misery. I thought we were getting our act together off the field, but the on field stuff looks a mile away.

So many fans dont even see this as an issue. Weve thrown $200k away in our last two home games but no one cares. The grey jersey seems to be the major issue that holds the club back. The sad thing is that the club listens to them.

No one could have any complaints about taking all games to ANZ. I just feel we are slowly dying. The sub 10 K crowds at home games. A winning season or 2 could change all that but how much damage (money, fans, sponsors) will be done in the mean time.

How quickly people forget WD. Smith was a cancer and had an agenda. He was looking at the head of football operations as a cosy job for himself. He poisoned our club and genius Mayer fell hook line and sinker. Potter to his credit was the only honest and reputable person amongst them and look where it got him. I now see that the NRL taking control of the Wests Tigers was part of a bigger agenda. Where we are heading is to the bottom. And I just pray when we get there and Mayer abandons ship that we do not pay him one penny of any bonus like other failed CEOs seem to get!
And by the way who is our head of football operations? What a sterling job he or she is doing!

Absolutely they are dying. Who identifies with the Tigers? They had a strong following and identity in Macarthur originally. Old Balmain and wests fans are fair weather supporters. Should have moved fulltime to ctown 10 years ago and they would be far better off now financially and in member numbers. I think it's all too late now. But just my opinion.

Hello!!!!!

How can we attract anyone or buy anyone when the till is empty?

We all need to stop carrying on about attracting and buying until we have some coin to do it. In the meantime lets stay positive, get behind the Tigers and hopefully grab a few wins in the second half of the comp.

Eddie, if you are correct then I would be the only supporter to complain if all games went to ANZ.
I want 4 games at Leichhardt every year.

I have sacrificed my initial team in a merge that was not needed, it seems I have sacrificed the predominant Tiger colour and now you want me to sacrifice the most sacred ground in the comp as well. No Way! …...not without a fight.

.

The club gets the same grant as everyone else.

No one knows the real situation, the ones that do are the ones that have the most to gain from painting a negative picture. So why do we believe every excuse the club offers up for its failings.

Im not doing it anymore, it all just seems like excuses.

That's hilarious. You want the coin to buy players but are happy to lose hundreds of thousands of dollars paying at LO. how do you expect to get the coin?

I completely agree with this. I think our cap is fine. I think we have plenty of money to spend or better put the same as every other club.

I just think its been poor recruitment and retention decisions recently. Paying too much for Blair. Letting Austin and Koro go. Buying Richards.

The club isn't far off. We have some great young kids. We just need to keep the right players and purchase players ala Taupau and Naiqama.
