Tigers set to shut doors to Leichhardt

Compare the cost of memberships for EPL or NFL teams, we are laughing really.

If there are only 20,000 seats and Tigers fans want them all, so be it. Bigger crowd-pullers will be at the SFS, no troubles.

Azsportza, Dry your eyes bud you should have got your Membership long before now.You are a fair weather Fan.

LaT & Demonborger, bad luck to Mr Gallop. No percentage should be keep for outside supporters. If people miss out bad luck. They should have got there Memberships earlier than now.

As for people not being able to afford it,IMO this is rubbish they have had 170 days (5 Months and 17days) to organise there Memberships. That is $0.38 cents per day for the $65 dollar price.
Any budget should be able to afford $0.38 cents per day.

IMO the fair weather FANS miss out and the True Supporters (Members) are rewarded.

Dry your eyes all you fair weather FANS and shark supporters. Members are more important to the Wests Tigers than you lot.

Mr Humpries you are a Genius, well done.

Iron Tiger you are correct Rothfield will be blowing up deluxe.

So what your saying is that everyone who isn't a member is only a 'fair weather' fan? Sorry but just because you are a member doesn't make you any more of a fan or any more passionate then people who aren't members. Haven't memberships only come into vogue the last 5 or 10 yrs? i've always seen it in AFL but not so much League. But anyway, if your answer to my question is yes then i guess you would have to say that before memberships came along we were just all a bunch of 'fair weather' supporters

Happy Tiger,it is just my opinion.I feel there is no excuses.

I too, like alot of our people on our great forum have house hold budgets to run but i feel $0.38 cent per day is not a big deal. People have had well over 5 Months to organise this.

Bottom Line if you want to go you would budget for it.it is not like the Wests Tigers Club have "sprung" this on us.A sold out Liechhardt was always going to happen in round 1.

Once again,No Excuses,just my opinion.

Personally I'd be happy if say 500 tickets were reserved for Sharks members (members not supporters). I like the idea of having member only games like this just to encourage membership purchases but it would be a shame for opposition fans not be able to attend games at Leichhardt.

If we had 20000 members I would love to see all games at Campo and LO members only affairs. The reality is that for the club to grow membership is key. If you want to see the Tigers play sign up there are plenty of options and payment options. If not we play plenty of games at the SFS you can get tix for. We also play plenty of Sydney teams you can pay for tickets for. It comes down to priority if you want and can afford it great jump on board. Lots of people can't afford it, not sure I can really, but that's ok too, but the club has to stay afloat and it cannot wait for people to decide to turn up if they feel like it or if the weather is ok. The day of rocking up is over and investment from the fans and the clubs is whats needed.
If we as the fans don't make this investment now then we as a club will not be viable and when the NRL look at what clubs they shed, and they will, we will be gone completely.

All I need now is for my membership ticket to turn up in next 2 weeks

was just thinking the same…. I think they arrived the week after the Foundation Cup last year, so hopefully we see them this week!

So are you calling the likes of Happy Tiger who is a QLD'er, and NZ Tiger who is from NZ, and other supporters who cannot physically get to home games a "fair weather fan" as well Frazer simply because they haven't purchased memberships? You don't know the personal situations of all "fair weather" fans - Maybe some of them like me find it difficult to get to every scheduled home game due to work and family commitments, and will happily pay for Premium ticketing when they do get a chance to go to the game.

We are all Tigers supporters here mate - doesn't matter if we haven't ever purchased a single shred of merchandise, and/or a membership, or if we have literally decked our house our in Black, White and Orange - We all share a common bond.

Don't go breaking that bond with an "I'm a member so i'm better than you" garbage mate - go and support the Eels if you want to question the loyalty of the supporters.

I don't disagree that a sold out Leichardt was likely to happen Round 1

But I still say that is irresponsible of you to start saying that and making people feel guilty because they can't support the club the way they want to and the way you are fortunate to be able to

Don't you think that every Wests Tigers fan if they could afford (and logistically possible for them to get good value out of it ) would want to be a member and support our great club . Usually if someone 's wants something really badly and they don't go out and get it it is for a reason They can't afford it

I'll say one thing - it is an amazing piece of marketing by Humphreys. I'll bet it will be another busy day down at the WT membership department. Even if the "members only" thing doesn't happen this time, if it pushes our membership numbers over 15k then happy days.

I honestly believe if we continue to use LO and CSS, this is the way things will be long-term. I can even see the day when we'll have membership ballots to get in to those grounds.

you're not wrong there.
i have to spend thousands of dollars in donations just to be on the waiting list to watch my college football team.
once you earn enough points , you get off the waiting list you have to pay $800 to the athletic fund plus your season ticket price for only 8 games.last year they added $50 parking.
i just looked on ticketstub to see what an inner bowl seat would cost me for the upcoming season $2700 or $1100 for the nose bleed section.

ahh no thanks,i'll just pick a couple of games i want to go to each year and that will do.
i've got other priorities in life where the money in my view could be better spent.

for the length of a football season and the money required for season tickets in australia it is a bloody good deal.

I have been a Tigers fan all my life.
I live too far away to make it to games on a regular basis.
I still continue to get the non-ticketed membership because I want to help support the club.
I have finally talked about 10 of my mates who majority of them are not Tigers fans to come to Leichhardt Oval with me because i've been talking it up as the best place to watch league.
Now I have no idea if/when I can even get tickets for us to make the trip into Sydney.
I believe this is wrong… Fans from outside of Sydney deserve to have the chance to come and watch a game when they can.
Why can't non-ticketed members buy GA tickets before the general public???
All I want to do is show the experience of going to Leichhardt to my mates!

Ring the club and enquire about the chance of pre-purchase as a non ticketed member Al

As much as I love Leichhardt and now love taking my kids there, if we get 20000 members and it means they can't all fit, then we abandon the Old girl and just play a trial there every year.

Well it depends. If the figure is 15-20k members, attending a game at Leichhardt Oval could be a considerable carrot to many of these members signing up. Stop playing there and it could remove the incentive for a lot of people to join.

I just joined!! 150 for 8 home games!!

Imo thats a bargain and a half!!

Whats in the members kit???

Wooooot excited!!

Please post the result too. As another non-ticketed member the chance of Tigers only crowd at LO is almost worth the 8 or 9 hour return drive.
