Tigers sign McKinnon - effective immediately

I thought we were already over the salary cap after the jersey flegg/toyota cup cap rule mix up.

For a while McKinnon was one of the best fullbacks in the NRL. Hopefully he can get back to that form.

Beau could move back to the centres whilst Ayshford is out.

At full strength, I'll go with…

1\. McKinnon
2\. TNT
3\. Beau
4\. Lawrence
5\. Lote

Ayshford to 2nd row/lock.

Should have kept mighty mouse. I don't think Wade will run into first grade straight away. He is only 2nd string at the warriors.

And that was a huge mistake… the fact he was 2nd string. Hohaia is a utility, don't know what the Warriors were thinking. Sure, on his day Hohaia can be good, but Wade is a great fullback. He just hasn't had enough footy recently to show that.

Mighty mouse isn't as good as made out here…

McKinnon is a great buy

He was on fire in 2007\. Let's hope he gets back to that kind of form. He'll add another dimension on attack and is good under the high ball. Good signing but makes me wonder what this means for Lui/Moltzen. Surely Moltzen would need to go to 7 based on our record there so far.
Any news on how long the contract is?

That is great news. When in form he is one of the best fullbacks running around
You have to feel for Meaney but at the end of day McKinnon is a much better player
As for Mulleney he might just have to see out the season in NYC

Agreed, solid at best - far too inconsistent. Shown that again at Nth Queensland. Had a blinder in his first game from memory than had a few shockers - now he finds himself in the same position he was at the Tigers.

Keen to see how McKinnon goes in Tigers colours - was one of the best supporting players going around not that long ago - which is an area where I think the Tigers could use an injection.

WESTS TIGERS SIGN WADE MCKINNON
26/05/2010 5:12:29 PM

Wests Tigers has today strengthened its playing depth with the signing of experienced full-back Wade McKinnon for the rest of the 2010 Telstra Premiership season following an early release from the Warriors.

“We are delighted to have secured a player of Wade’s ability and experience,’’ said Wests Tigers CEO Stephen Humphreys.

“He will be a valuable addition to the squad, particularly as we have a number of injured players at present. There is no doubt that Wade is a quality player and he is keen to re-establish his career with Wests Tigers.

“His attacking style of play and ability to find the tryline will be great assets for us.”

McKinnon said whilst he enjoyed his time with the Warriors immensely, he has a strong desire to play more first grade football.

“I feel I have plenty more to offer and can’t wait to team up with a very talented squad at the Wests Tigers ,’’ he said.

McKinnon has played 131 matches in the NRL, the first 77 for Parramatta (2004-06) and South Sydney (2002-03) before playing 54 games for the Warriors. He has scored 40 tries.

The 29-year-old is expected to arrive in Sydney over the weekend and be available for selection for Wests Tigers in the round 13 game against the Bulldogs at ANZ Stadium on Friday, June 4.

So many questions….Interesting move by Sheens indeed...

I assume he is being signed for FG,,,,Kepa and Meaney would definately be scratching their heads...Fullback has been an issue since Hodgo left...Wests Tigers just went out and signed 1.....A proven NRL fullback....

Well done...

I fear for Bug though...he may explode!!!!!
