Tigers sign McKinnon - effective immediately

As for Mulleney he might just have to see out the season in NYC

That's where he should be for the rest of this year. He will be a good firstgrader but he probably isn't quite ready yet. I think he only turns 20 this year. Next year they should start him in the NSW Cup and if he goes well there then he could play firstgrade next year.

is better then fitzy needs to be playing fullback ASAP I know hes washed up since that knee injury but its a upgrade

I have mixed feelings about Wade…...great player.

But a hard core dummy spitter and backchatter.

I'm assuming he has been signed under the proviso that none of that stuff will be tolerated.

Well anyways well done Humphreys and Mcdonell. I thought we were over the cap already

Hmmm good point….seems accounting have lifted their game or rumours of the past fortnight are CRAP.....Backloading may come into it or maybe Cleary hates McKinnon so much Warriors are picking up some of the tab....

Or maybe they got him under the 2nd tier?? Not 1st tier?

Im going to predict this is gonna be like Matthew Head we sign a player off some knee injuries and he never gets put into first grade by the super coach who felt John Morris was a great player now feels Fitzy is awesome.. do you honestly think he Will drop him after what he said last Friday? not going to happen lets be realistic

This is going to be Matthew Head all over again

When u sit back and think about it,its yet another signing of a player who is currently a fringe 1st grader in his current team, just like Daniella,Brown,Tupou, cayless,Flanagan,& Fitzhenry. It may be injury,or it may be form, but yet again were rolling the dice that we'll get something better out of them, yet rarely (if ever)do
Weve got a truckload of fringe 1st graders in Jim Beam Cup/Toyata cups..if were gonna buy someone, wouldnt it have been exciting (let alone sensible)if it was an established 1st grader like a Dugan…?

 Damn Sheens…...

Fringe FG cause the his current coach ...hates his guts....

Rep honours last year to dud in 12 months....

Wade McKinnon is NOT a fringe first grader. The Warriors handled it all wrong IMO. That's why he asked for a release, he knows he's not a fringe first grader. He IS a first grader. The move will hopefully bring out the best of him.

This is a real +ve signing.

Seriously anyone whinging about this has rocks in their head.

We need a reliable fullback. We have a fullback that prior to signing with the warriors we all probably wanted him and who was killing them.

Hodgo had some injuries before coming to us. So did Prince.

It sounds like the Tigers have only signed him for the remainder of this season, so whether he stays beyond that will be dependant on his form no doubt.

What a signing!!! This is GREAT for the club and is exactly the fullback we are missing!

Will he play this weekend? I hope so! GREAT STUFF TIGES!!! BOOYYAAAHHHHH

I'm excited!

He can't play this weekend mate, he is eligible for selection against the Bulldogs though and I won't be surprised if he is selected.

We already signed mitch Brown, whos more a fullback than a winger yet has never seen the 1 jersey.
3 wingers, 2 fullbacks in one seasons recruitment….awesome...meanwhile our pack struggles.
McKinnon will probably play lock
He cant play on friday cause theyre worried about the new sinks in the sheds

Yeah I just read the article… no big deal. Mate he has to play against the Dogs! Hurray for decent kick returns!!!!!

Don't get me wrong, I rate McKinnon very, very highly! He is a super-quality footballer and is otherwise a fantastic acquisition for the club.

But I can't help but think of the following:
- what about Mullaney? Ok, yes the kid is young and can spend the rest of the year in the reggies, but not forever
- what about Meany? This guy is deadset on fire! He is leading the table-topping BRET side to massive victories and kicking goals from all over the park.
- what about Tuqiri and Ryan?
- what about brown?

someone has to lose out here. I don't envy sheens' position at the moment in regards to selections.

ok, had another think.
If he is a direct swap for Fitzhenry and sheens stops playing wingers off the bench then i'm happy with it.

I doubt Wade will be here after this season Kul…. Meaney and Mullaney will be under studies this year (and will benefit from it GREATLY imo) and Lote will remain on the wing or move into the second row lol
