if he walks straight into FG v the dogs then ill give up, meaney has been playing extremely well for a couple seasons now and IMO deserved a shot a while ago, Mckinnon was good in 07 his last couple seasons havent been good, IMO another wasted signing when we potentially have 3 fullbacks other then ryan and moltzen who can play there.

Dude, McKinnon is a proven FG player. A very experienced one at that. You can't compare FG form to reserve/u20s form.

McKinnon should walk straight into FG. He is a fullback, we don't have a solid FG fullback which is EXACTLY what we need right now.

im not doubting his ability, but his best form was 06-07, this year he has been in JB cup all bar the first 2 weeks, i hope he shines and goes really great, but im not sold on this signing when we have other viable options just as good

I am shocked the club had put their hand up and admitted fullback has been a failure.

That fool Sheens should not have released Mighty Mouse.

Wade McKinnon is a good quality signing. This is the 2nd best news tonight apart from Ennis playing a crap game for NSW.

Don't knock the signing… absolutely brilliant signing. He is the support player we've desperately needed for some time... Good in the air and great at getting sides out of trouble. Still has plenty of footy in him. Don't know whats going to happen next year tho :S

Gee seven pages in no time,Its telling me TNT gone for the season, its telling me that Sheens is in trouble, no time to give the likes of Meaney a go, going for the old proven and trusted but slightly over the hill, that word experience comes to mind, the same word that Sheens uses after saying the word Fitzhenry.

Dont get me wrong we need a no1, but its not like its a new phenom,we have one in the under 20's who has been on fire for 12months and we have one in BRET who has been on fire for 3months. Yet we go outside for a bloke who has been on struggle street for a few years. It just seems to me that we should have looked inside before heading elsewhere. The good thing, its Wades last chance at the big time so he has plenty of incentive, although the likes of meaney have every reason to have a dummy spit. We have a coach close to the end so nothing surprises anymore

ink is right on this….what was the point of signing brown and whats the point of carving up in PL or 20s when you constantly get over looked. 3 years ago it would of been a great signing and id assume since its immediate release he has already been promised the FB role otherwise he would of just stayed at the warriors

Pleeeeeeease - the gap between FG and State Cup is wider than the Sydney heads. Meaney is a reserve /park footballer at best. McKinnon is a class first grader.

Mckinnon is probably one of the best quality signings the tigers have made in a long time that doesnt include stars like Tuqiri and Ellis… He is twice the play Meaney will ever be n Mullaney is still ripening

Still not sold. Have seen Wade in NSW Cup this year and he has looked well below par.

Than again it appears he has been unhappy at the Warriors all year as well.

He won't cost us much at all and could provide massive impact for the team

Ok, this got me thinking

We've all been having a go at Sheens for having a winger on the bench. Fair enough, it's stupid and he should carry a larger bench.
However, if he selected a couple of props, a second rower and had McKinnon on the bench and injected him into the game like he did Morris last year, then that would work.

In saying that it would probably make more sense to play him in the 1, but again that's the McKinnon from a few years back that i'm thinking about.

I cant believe it, just got hom from origin. This a great signing for the club! First genuine fullback in first grade since Hodgson left (barring Might Mouse). Couldnt be happier about this, great work by the club to get him.

me likey. then again i wouldnt mind seeing a fitzhenry/mckinnon fullback rotation

i just like the idea we are trying to strengthen this team instead of just going through the motions.
if we have the money to improve our depth then what is the problem.
of course people want their favorites in the team just like sheens.

i don't follow the warriors so i have no idea what his form has been like.
alot bring up his knee injury, but that was in 2008,and then he came back from injury in 2009 and earned a city jumper.
so why are people still questioning his knee injury.
is he still having trouble with it?is there a new injury to it?

I think this is a great signing. Some of the posts here sound like we have signed a busted player. He played every single game at starting fullback for the Warriors last year and has played 6 this year 3 starting and 3 from the bench. He might not be as quick as he once was but he would run past most of the players we have in the backs this year.

smeg, mckinnon and nsw cup dont belong in the same sentence.

Good signing, I'm only concerned what this may mean for some other players, not only in the lower grade, but more specifically Moltzen.

Say all players that are currently injured are back…..who's in the 17? and who are the remaining 8 to fill out the 25?

very happy with this signing. always rated mckinnon highly… can't wait till he is named in the starting side.

but geez Sheens must be a 'so-called fan' of Fitzy. one minute he's potentially the permanent solution at fullback the next minute we're signing players. hypocrite!

He must have been been guaranteed a first grade spot to leave mid season. He basically says it himself in the article.

I reckon "Beau knows" will be dropped

Great news and well done tigers we do need a fullback so welcome Wade to the tigers and the best of luck. This guy will give his all and will be i hope a good mentor to our next great fullback Jack Mullaney
