Tigers sign McKinnon - effective immediately

Not sure I share the sentiment, a very good player a cpl of years back but it seems again we have signed an injured reserve grader, maybe that isn't doing justice to McKinnon who as most have seen can be electric at the back…but it has been some time since that form has been on display. The other problem I have is we know Sheens isn't likely to drop Fitzy so does this now mean after much improvement in his game this season we are now about to see Ryan dropped?

Allways good to pick up a quality player but not convinced we needed him.

Fitzy dropped..Ryan dropped….Hahahahaha

Lote looks as though he needs a rest.....bit down on form...hasn't crossed the stripe for a while.....

Fantastic news. I rate this bloke and we need this type of fullback. Dont worry about the future. He's been signed for here and now and I'd bet my house he's the number 1 against the dogs. Lets take it week by week and see how things pan out. Well done Tigers. Imo we are a much stronger side with him at the back. Very excited about the turn around this club began last week.

Interesting signing. Wade is a good defender, has speed and a high work-rate. I was somewhat hoping we would see Lote in the 1 sometime this year as I felt his size, speeed and natural ability would be more devastating with the ball in his hands more. But I'm happy with this signing also. I cant see Wade letting us down…

It does change our backline though. Does Ryan go to Centre of Wing? What happens when Blake comes back? I'd say Fitzy will be on the bench now...

On closing, I watched the BRET game yesterday and I feel sorry for players like Sean Meaney. Out of that team, I'd say Sean, Gower and Lazarus all are ready for NRL level and will be chased by other clubs...

Watched the game as well. Maybe hold Lazarus, but would not be overly concerned if the other two decided to move on.

This will definitely be a good thing for us. With all respect to our other options, Wade will walk right into that number 1 jersey next week. Anyone questioning the signing, i just don't get it. The club has seen a problem and has rectified that problem. So what if it hurts Meaney or Mullaney's chances this season. Fact is McKinnon is a lot further ahead of them as footballers and will benefit us greatly. In Mullaney's case i think he was always a long shot of making first grade this season. He may get thrown into some State Cup games though later in the season.

As for long term, no worries here, it's a contract for the rest of the season, i guess the club will look at their options again at the end of the season.

They have already resigned Lazarus for a couple of years.

I think he was first choice when Burt was injured although I didn't watch that many Parra games and cant be arsed looking up the stats to see

He's never kicked a goal in 1st grade according to the stats I've seen

Thanks guys for the info re Mckinnons' goalkicking qualifications, anyway I guess Benji wouldn't give up that role.

There may be confusion between Micheal Witt and McKinnon as far as goal kicking goes…...

McKinnion has been sent off for kneeing one of blokes...Cambo couple of years back....then there was spitting at a touchie....

Seems Sheensy has relaxed the no boofheads policy...More mungrel...good to see
