Tigers team to take on West Illawarra

I thought Lincoln Port was very good.

Reddy tried hard, is big and strong and I think will be there in round one.

Grant didn't look out of place despite getting put into touch once.

The big number 23 (don't know his name) also impressed.

Overall it was just a scratchy sort of performance especially from the forwards.

By the way, I cant understand how we ended up playing at this facility - dreadful, no seating whatsoever, poor playing surface - don't know why we couldn't have just played down the road at Campbelltown Stadium.

23 was Francis Tuigamala, apparently we picked him up from the Newtown jets,
And yes the venue was a bit ordinary

Thanks B&W - Francis is one to watch.

I find it interesting Grant played on the right. I may be wrong, but i think he mainly played on the left for eastwood.

It would cost $2000 just to play at ctown.. But i guess playing on a dodgy pitch would be risky

Your right Sirro, he did play on the left for Eastwood.
The fact that he played the whole game on the right, I'd have to imagine that's were Sheens'y has him pencilled in to play.
He went OK too

I wonder what 'Beau knows'

Looking forward to it - hopefully the rain eases up a bit.

Will get some video footage to share with the people who cant make it.

Was that you with the video camera set up on the half way line? I parked my car with my daughter there and noticed a few people there and someone had the video camera set up.

I saw the guy that your talking about Bret,
I must have been right next door to you.

Helmesy's footage looks like it was taken from behind the goal line..!

Francis 23 played good but needs much more fitness. He is a beast and is the biggest (fattest) player I have seen in years. He makes George Rose look like Mat BOWEN.
Linc Port was good, he is gonna be a star, very classy. Marika was solid. Junior Moors looked fit.

The ground was a disgrace.

The game wasn't much better.

The clumps of grass on the field, the steam and humidity and the long uncut grass on the Hill was terrible. They should just play double headers with Wests Magpies at either Cambo or Leichhardt equally.

The Balmain Tigers have beaten Wests Illawarra five tries to three in a trial match played at Milton Park, Ingleburn.

Under warm and sunny skies the Tigers looked very rusty with a number of opportunities missed thanks to dropped balls and forward passes.

Wests Illawarra tried hard and in many ways were probably the better team on the day.

Admittedly i only watched games on the ABC but in every game i saw Eastwood play Grant was on the left wing.

Grant played almost exclusively left wing for Eastwood (in first grade anyway).

He however played fullback for Country and in Colts (well at least the game I saw)

Seems a solid start

Sounds like we have lots of good backs that will be debuting/club debuting either this year or next

Tedesco
Koroibete
Reddy
Port
Grant

We cant fit all these guys into the team

Great stuff helmesy…did anyone in particular stand for you ?
