Tigers Team Vs Penrith - Trial#2

Apparently costs were too high and it seemed sus. Yeah....
The WTs site would be very cheap to run…it’is just an NRL template. Meaning you dont need front end or back end developers. Or UI/UX designers. Nor tech project managers ect.. all you need to do is upload content. It would be very cheap to run. If the owners of the club are only willing to put in very low funding …then they aren’t looking to increase growth in the fan base or engage with existing fans.

Agree. I think the socials would take a lot more work, and that's really dropped off a cliff too. That content can be revenue generating if done right.

The issue is content approval by the NRL They control the narrative and brand story before it goes live.

Exactly. Shaun Mielekamp said the club needs to generate its own revenue. It makes it a lot harder if the website and socials aren’t providing engagement to entice membership and merch sales.

I think Makasini cements his place this week. He’s too good to be left out, and Benji proved with Galvin a couple years ago that he has no problem throwing an 18 year old in in round 1 if he’s ready. And who is he competing with, a 26 year old with only 23 games under his belt. Makasini could pass that by the end of the season while still a teenager. Skelton hardly has a mortgage on his place in the side.

Really? How do you know? I really doubt this.

Seems like an unnecessary bottleneck and doesnt explain the spelling mistakes slipping through the cracks.

Agreed - I’d like to see something which confirms this, if so. It seems like a very strange and expensive position for the NRL to take to centrally vet all posts by all the clubs.

The time involved would be large and they would need to have sufficient knowledge of all the details of all the clubs (including anything agreed with sponsors in terms of what is said and how brands are referred to etc) to manage this. Plus, if the NRL puts themselves in that position they may have additional liability for anything misleading or any defamatory statements.

(This is different from the NRL having a hand in the centrally generated “news” which they do vet and produce - but that isn’t the team lists, announcements about players / fan days etc)
