EXACT same thing happened at Souths with the majority of their team.
Not saying Madge is wrong, but I have long felt this approach ONLY works if you win.
Bellamy, Ferguson and Belichick..this approach works as they win.
Every other coach, in all codes, has failed eventually with this approach when they have not won.
If players play good it doesn’t happen. Get rid of the non performers and build a winning team and that’s the plan.
Madge is definitely a coach that needs the whole squad to be his because not everyone is on board with him as a coach
It’s laughable that players can complain about being dropped for playing crap, it’s a professional sport and they’re not doing their jobs
In all sports, it either works brilliantly (great culture, long term success) OR the coach fails. If you follow the NBA, Coach Thibs has tried it and failed everywhere...but coach Pop succeeded. 95% fail.
Our problem is, for Madge to work, we really need senior...hard headed...tough blokes.
No Benjis and Lawrys...nice guys, but absolutely terrible in terms of winning culture.
Michael Crockers and Sam Burgess instead...blokes who fire up and lead.
Whether we can get those types of players before Madge is sacked or walks in the next couple of years...that is the real question.
