The Tigers have moved to end speculation over the job of coach Michael Maguire by extending his deal by another year.

There has been some speculation over the connection Maguire has with his players, with these issues brought to light with the news that out-of-favour duo Josh Reynolds and Russell Packer left Saturday night’s game against Manly at half time.

Maguire has found some promise in his list despite ongoing beliefs the playing group were fed up with his tough training regime.

The Tigers have fallen behind the eight-ball in 2020 but Maguire has the backing of the club’s board.

The Wests Tigers have had plenty coaches in recent years and the club is determined to make sure Maguire isn’t added to the list, with the former South Sydney premiership-winning coach to be given an extension on his contract despite already being locked in until the end of 2021.

That should ensure the Players don't override what the coach is trying to achieve and realistic by the club adding another year as shuld have the roster he requires by then.

Agree there but to attract Quality players you need a stable coach, 1 year extension sounds logical unsure how we will go next season but if not making finals by 2022 they will be looking at the coach, i am sure that Madge and Hartigan will ensure that whom we retain and Sign will be much better in the future, still lots of dead wood till 2022.
