It could have happened at the start when he took the gig. But now it’s his club, no one would dare question him (nor should they) and if they did I think Cam Smith would tear strips off them.

That leads me to my next point. Madge literally has no senior players he can rely on to help him build whatever he’s looking to build. Reynolds, Mbye and Packer are our most senior players and it’s clear they haven’t bought into anything. I’ve been very critical of Madge but he’s on a hiding to nothing tbh. It’s the senior players job to help the rest of the playing group buy into what the coach is doing, and they’re not. There’s no leaders.

This is a major problem going forward and shows how badly the place has been managed before Madge who has walked into a worse fiasco than he could have known. If the Tigers make the 8 within two years it will be a miracle

I’ve never been Nofa’s biggest fan. But this year he has tried as hard as anyone and had a good season because of it. Nofa, Aloiai, Twal, Luciano and AD are the guys you want moving the club forward.

Man all this crap today has got me depressed about the future of our club. It’s a rotten culture of players continually trying to undermine the coach and it’ll be just as bad if not worse next season.

I actually can get that, when he scored the goal to win the premiership on sunday, I said that bloke deserves that goal, he tries his guts out every week

I really do like Aloiai, but ever since his brother went viral over here in NZ wearing a MAGA hat at a BLM protest earlier in the year - I just became a bit sus, and since then have seen some questionable posts from him.

Yep. And if any journos had the guts to ask him about it I think he'd give quite a considered response, even if it is contrary to popular opinion.

He should be the captain. I loved his answer when he was asked what the club should stand for. I still believe in our forward pack. Man, if we could just land a talented, experienced player to lead alongside Josh.

Seriously I’ve never known a team with such an inverse ratio between performance and public talking. Some of them are pretty quick to complain about the coaching and yet here we go closing on a decade with no finals football. I’d be happy for Maguire to release anyone who doesn’t like accountability or hard work they can jog on.

Must be what it's like right now in Townsville, hearing constant Cowboys talk when the club is doing bugger-all.
