Tigers tell Reynolds he's free to find a new club

@OzLuke At 800 a season we need more than just passion for a start some one who can play more than 5 games a season

Don’t get caught up in our late run. If we are going to be atop four side we have to make cut throat decisions and I am sure Madge will. Personally I do not see a place for both Marshall and Reynolds. It’s one all the other, okay JR has done okay off the bench as D/H, but it was also against two teams struggling.
I guess it all comes down to who we can replace JR with and weather we an use him as a swap deal for another player

I hear you but Benji was 20-something, once-in-generation talent playing at 5/8th and Grub is 30 possibly moving to hooker.

Reynolds has busted shoulders before he signed with the Tigers to the extent Hassler wouldn’t play him at hooker. If Marshall plays on next year, these last few games will assist in lowering the amount the club has to pay to move him on.

It’s in his best interests also he’s a 5/8. He can extend his career in the position. We simply need to sign a hooker for next year.

marshall had busted shoulders too and we persevered with him....

I think reynolds can add to the club...apart from his injuries when he's on the field he is one of our more passionate players

Marshall was young Reynolds won’t make a full season and will only get worse. He is contracted to the age of 32 it’s a bad contract. Passion aside he’s not worth the money if a club pays a substantial amount you have to move on.

It’s about getting players in the rise not decline in 2021. Smart teams time their roster management rather than just buy at the spur of the moment like Cleary.

Josh Reynolds needs a new club. Justin Holbrook is tasked with rebuilding one.

Given their history – they won two lower-grade premierships together at Canterbury when they last combined – a reunion could potentially be of benefit to all parties.

What’s clear after the Gold Coast’s dismal season is the need for cultural change. At times, Titans players appeared to show a lack of effort. Such an accusation can never be made about Reynolds.
The Tigers have given him permission to negotiate with clubs and are prepared to heavily subsidise his $800,000- a-year salary for next season. That could make the former NSW pivot a bargain buy for any club. Which is why the Titans could be the right fit.

‘‘I speak to Justin all the time – I’ve got a good relationship with him,’’ Reynolds said. ‘‘If he wants me there, he can extend the call. He’s a great coach. If anyone can change a culture, it’s him. We won two comps under him. It’s all up in the air, but anything is possible. I wish him all the best with everything.’’

He would change the GC's culture, so it makes sense.

They need to offload Ash Taylor first though.

IMO Taylor can be the best half in the world, and he kicks goals.

But it seems he has genuine issues.
