There's a new RLW magazine out this week and having a skim through it, there's a few small pieces of news on the Tigers. To summarise:

Mark Geyer tips the Wests Tigers to collect the wooden spoon this year;
None of the other "experts" tip the Tigers to make the 8;
Parramatta are expected to table a huge offer to Robbie Farah (old news); and
Young Sirro bulked up to 105kg during the offseason but with added conditioning and fitness has got himself down 102kg where he feels comfortable. He'll be brought back through State Cup and hopes to be right for the season opener.

"Mark Geyer tips the Wests Tigers to collect the wooden spoon this year"

Best news I've heard all off-season. I think I'll put some cash on us winning the title now!

Didn't he pick us to win the premiership last season if memory serves

Maybe he did some dough and backed us to win in 2012 and is dirty

I can see why others wouldn't rate us. No established fullback or halfback, and if either Farah or Marshall go down we'll be in trouble

Could go either way this yr. Lets see what Harry can weave

Yes he did back us to win last year,egg on his face 2 years in a row courtesy of the WestsTigers.

Young Sirro bulked up the wrong way having too much of a good time socially …He will have to prove to Potter that he is prepared to knuckle down and work hard for a spot on the team.

Everything is going to plan so far no one has us in the 8 which is a good thing just ask souths we will be flying under the rader and be a top team in 2013 here come the tigers.

Sad sad day if I ever take notice of anything Mark Geyer has to say. Have had dealings with him and makes me wonder each time how he even remembers to breath every few seconds.

And to hear he got some Australia Day honours….such a fine citizen.

If he picks us last, we area sure bet to run top 4.

I think the more valiant point of Geyer tipping us last is that he is a huge supporter of the club normally.
I dont blame him. At this point in time I dont rate us either. Right at this minute I can not see us better than 13th.

We are short on a half
We are short on backup props
We are short on centers
We are short a fullback

I am sure things will change in a couple of months time but right now anyone who honestly predicts us to finish in the 8 is dreaming and I wonder on what form or reasoning they say this other than loyalty.

The roster is not that bad. Anything can happen.

I'll concede were a prop short.

24-1 is fair but attractive to a supporter.

Attractive odds indeed, might wait and see though. If they drop their first couple of games (we're renowned for starting off cold,) it might blow out a little more.

I can't say for sure and for certain how we will fare, I'm optimistic that a change in coach should bring a change to the club, but unless players respond we won't see any improvement on last year. We could finish in the top four, we could go home with the spoon. One thing is for sure, I'd be backing us for the spoon if Sheens was still here.

We're the big 3 now GNR not the big 2.

Take Mark Geyers tips with a grain of salt, he has to pick someone and he shant be tipping the panthers anyday soon. It all depends on how the team respond to the coaching of Mick Potter. My own thinking is that we will be either top 4 or bottom 4

Don't worry about these so called "experts". Remember last year they tipped WT to win the competition. There are so many important variables i.e. injuries, attitude, improvements, courage etc which no expert. especially if he is an outsider, can predict at this time of the year.

our fortunes (like all sides) will rest with the fitness our our squad, especially key players Robbie, Benji and given our lack of a big minute prop in the squad outside Galloway and Woods. If those 4 play most games i would be surprised if dont finish in the 8 somewhere.

on average, from one year to the next, 4 of the 8 teams in the 8 make it again the next year.

If you remember this time last year, you'd struggle to find anyone who didnt have the warriors, us or the knights in the 8, and we all know what happened there.

Wally Lewis will second that. He would remember the incident as he and Geyer walked off for 1/2 time in SOO.
