Tigers to call ANZ Stadium home in 2014

Wests Tigers are set to ditch Allianz Stadium as one of their home grounds in favour of a move back to ANZ Stadium.
New Tigers chief executive Grant Mayer has already committed to staging matches at the joint-venture club's spiritual homes of Leichhardt Oval and Campbelltown Stadium.

However, the club's round-23 clash with Sydney Roosters and the round-25 fixture against South Sydney loom as the Tigers' last at Allianz Stadium. The club, which during some seasons had played out of all four venues, is likely to announce the shift back to Sydney Olympic Park during the week.

I don't get why people are so happy about us playing at ANZ Stadium. The ONLY benefit is the club will get more cash.

Atmosphere is horrible, viewing is terrible. I feel like I'm alone in feeling it will be worse playing at ANZ.
 
Location shouldn't just be the factor. The experience should be the most important thing. Fact is there is no seating allocation along the sidelines anything other than cat 1\. Which are $50 for a seat.
 
I agree with you, there is much better atmosphere at Allianz Stadium. But niether of them really feel like home.

Shame we cannot play most our games out of Campbelltown and 3 or 4 at Leichhardt. As a previous Balmain supporter I would be happy with that outcome. We need our own couldron.

Leichhardt Oval isn't up to NRL standard anymore. Campbelltown is in much better shape.

Honestly, no longer looking forward to the 2014 now we will be playing out of ANZ Stadium.

i am with you and also only 12 thousand people there against none sydney teams. will be terrible atmosphere and it will look almost empty

Because they can make memberships cheaper and give the punter a central venue to get to that also has a good transport hub and be seated in comfort with good amenities I will take 6 memberships if this happens , i know many supporters that think as I do we want to become members but refuse to have to go to sometimes 4 grounds ,we basically want 1 ground and we have the money to give to the club.

I will believe it when I see it. We will have to buy gold membership if you want a seat on the sideline (even the 10 metre line). Currently the cheapest gold membership is $345 which is for 8 games.

Transport should be free with membership/ticket. It's an added cost which is no benefit for fans.

And I'll say, there is nothing comfortable about the plastic seats at ANZ :stuck_out_tongue:
 
I reckon you will get more people to ANZ just through location alone, closer to both main supporter bases if I lived at Campbeltown I'd much rather the shorter trip to homebush and a lot of old Balmain supporters have moved to inner west locations concord ect ect makes sense IMO
I hardly ever went to Allianz but always went to ANZ for ease of location

I live in Campbelltown and depending on the traffic I can drive and park at Allianz in about 45-50 minutes. Going via train to ANZ Stadium, including the change at Lidcombe station, the trip is over an hour easily.
 
I'm happy to go back to ANZ…much closer than Moore Park!...without the parking/traffic hassles..I presume WT Members seats(all 3 classes) will be good ones too...yeehaa

Yes but at what cost. Remember, unlike at Allianz, silver seating is not from the 30 metre line. It starts from the corner post at ANZ Stadium.

…but there should be more seating options as there are more seats in the stadium..eg..if silver seating starts from the corner post surely it would run to the 30-40 meter line....both sides of the stadium
