Tigers to miss top eight in 2010

The only good from last night was the 2 points the rest can be left in Brisbane ..Any one that watch the game could not think we are any chance in the finals I actually could not believe what I was seeing any way on to next week .

I for one am pretty stoked that we played pretty average, but held our D and still got the points. About time we won a game that we shouldn't have. Lost count how many times we were the better team and lost. Just take it and concentrate on next week.

Home games coming up. Fire Up. We are third for a reason, and if the broncos deserved to win, then they should have. But they didn't. Which means they weren't good enough. It wasn't going well and we didn't panic, kept turning up and scored when it mattered. That's all that counts in the end and I think is actually a pretty good positive. We played till the end, no matter how ugly it seemed.

Cheers

wests-tigers won, it was not pretty.
the team got the two points and that's what they compete for.
if wests-tigers lost last night, we all would have been really peed off.
the game was there for the taking, and guess what, wests-tigers took it and won.

now its time to prepare and get it right for game against Titans.

100% right mate, we are not a good enough side to start getting fussy about our wins. We defended well and stayed composed enough to manufacture a win….shut-up and take the 2 points thats what i'm doing.

Tiger supporters would have to be the most pessimistic ever… We are coming third and everone is still blowing up, wat else can they do.... Even if we are playing like s*** they r mostly still winning there r only 2 other teams who have won more games... Give urself an uppercut Graham

what else can they do?

maybe put together 80 minutes of top class football? not fumble and bumble their way to a victory

Burgandy. We're sitting in third, now until we start losing, can you please shut up?

I don't care how we win. A couple of years ago the Tigers used to have this status as a 'razzle dazzle' team who would play great when we won or crap when we lost. Not to mention the inconsistent form patches we'd have. We're now on the way of working off the 'most unpredictable team in the NRL' tag.

At least this year we are grinding out wins and just getting the points. Remember you don't get extra points for winning by bigger margins, or playing razzle dazzle footy, you go and play for the two competition points and if by the end of the night you have the points, it's been a successful day.

As long as we're winning, you should be happy.

I am stoked we won…..but we played like Sh%t! We should have been pumped, ready to smash a Broncos side that was very much under-strength! But we had no intensity, no drive, no will power.

We won off one persons skill, not a team playing well. I'll take the two - but I am still pi$$ed we let T'eo get first try!!!

I just love the Friend and Foe feature, there's so much crap from certain forum members I don't have to read anymore.
Surprisingly Ron isn't on it. Maybe cos I cut out so much crap that his negative comments are now barely a blip on the radar.

how many times have we been in the Broncos shoes over the years? I'm happy to take the 2 points, plenty of room for improvement, but still winning

Sorry, but do you see the first 50% of the club name? It is "Wests" and since 1908 we have consistently lost from impregnable positions. Pessimism is our culture.

In saying that, Friday night's performance was the greatest I have seen from our club since the Dragons semi of 2005\. Wests never win games such as that on Friday night.

Huh, I could have sworn Lawrence scored the first try??

It seems a lot of people are forgetting we don't really have a halfback - Friday nights result was crucial and I reckon we will get back to a more cohessive and professional attacking game when Lui is back.

Introducing Garry Bakerloo everyone….Amazingly he is a forum member who has managed to watch only 1 game in the last 5 years.....

It wasn't a pretty performance, but it was one we would've lost easily in years past.

Oh well, we've had games where the attack has been fluid, defense solid and we've still been pipped. Our attack was solid enough to score 3 tries, our defense was good enough to keep them to 2 tries and with every call going against us, was a good effort in the end.

For the most part on Friday night they were black & white witches hats, BUT they got away with it… As said in previous post it doesn't have to be pretty but atleast thier winning. Hopefully they start stringing some consistency / form when it counts, finals. Which we will be a part of if we continue to win. In previous years we would have lost the game against the Broncos. The side needs to stop going through the motions & just doing enough to win. They need to start putting the other side to the sword which may be the difference when it comes to our position in the final 8, seeing how close the comp is....Go West

Hmmmmm….....actually, I begin to question how much you understand Wests.

Friday night:

- Wet
- No halfback
- Supposed weakened opposition (ie: expected to win) - Brisbane are NEVER weak.
- Brisbane away from home
- Numerous other injuries
- Practically no ball in the second half

We would have rolled over and been belted in any of the past 5 years under these conditions. We defended brilliantly in the second half and were still in the game despite having poor territory and ball. Won the game in the final couple of minutes with neat little play. Best performance since 2005.

I had a bet for us to miss the 8 early in the year and although were 3rd now the way we are playing might win me some money but i hope it doesn't. The signs over the last few weeks are not good and we haven't really had our usual run of losses yet is it around the corner?

we already have had our run of losses where were you 5 weeks ago.

Personally the draw has favoured us but injuries havnt so i believe it has equalled itself out, as things get back to normal no more rep duties for other squads and us almost back to full strength i believe our rich vein of football will get us into the finals and unlike last year play great and play into spetember, and hopefully celebrate a victory in October

Betting on us to not make the 8 before the season starts to form?

Brother, is Benji sleeping with your EX-Wife???

It a hard way to win money, cheering against your team. I'm sure that TIGER had a bigger bet on us making the 8 and was just covering all bases.

With Melbourne running last but taking points of good sides we are two wins away from sewing up a top 8 spot, sorry you did your cash.
