Tigers want to lock up Sheens before rivals come knocking

Read in the newspaper that the Rabbits have dropped out of getting Bennett and are now targetting Sheens. This is a sad day. If Sheens leaves, most of the team will. :frowning: :frowning: :frowning:

That's great news another 2 years till 2013!…If Sheens is any good with the current squad we should win a premiership between now and 2013!!.

**But what will happen after 2013?????**

**Sheens will probably go(and not a bad thing) and take most of the off contract players with him such as Farah and co!...**..The club would have to rebuild from the ground up!

you said he was going to Souff's ….....what Happened....

Look Coaches and players come and go the amount of youth we are developing is incredible....8 Australian schoolboys in the 20's alone this year alone....

Why would Sheens just walk away from that.....The core of the Wests Tigers is locked up beyond 2012....the future is bright with or without SHEENS.............

**That was the strong mail last week….maybe he did a Bennett and backed down after watching what a mess Souffs are really in after 2 games...fair dinkum they are travelling like busteds...**

was strong mail re Tuiaki going to Parra to.. mate u need a new source cause the one you go sucks lol

Your probs right…I'll try BBQ as I'm over tomato!. :roll

My crystal ball says ….
....regardless of results in 2011 Sheens will yet again avoid any accountability ,this time due to the horror injury toll, & we'll re-sign him for another 2-3 years.
The only variable is if one of the zillionaire team owners throws megabucks at him,but Knights wld probably prefer their incumbent if they cant snare Bennett,& Rusty has worked out Macguire is a better prospect
Only issue now is Sheens asking price, which he will reduce if there arent many attractive alternatives

Are you serious? We're 2 from 3 with a horror injury run… If we win this weekend with 8-10 regular or fringe first graders out it proves that Sheens truly has done well to put all the pieces in place in terms of depth in key positions & appropriate time to blood juniors.

Good to see someone is holding the fort while the Bug is on his self imposed ban... :crazy

The man has done more for the Wests Tigers than any previous coach, he has won a premiership, blooded juniors, made us a professional outfit and as we face injury issues we are still holding it together.

Some of you supporters need to take the emotional bs out of your statements and be proud of our club and the people that represent it.

I hope Tim signs soon 2 years more to lift the spirits of the boys!!!!!!

Some people feel 3 weeks constutes "long term success",but Im sort of thinking 4 years is a more accurate reflection of "long term"…like the 4 years beween 06 & 09
Those same 4 years where Sheens blatant mistakes & bloody-mindedness were transparent to all but himself,& totally explained his poor long term coaching record as has been well chronicled by Bug
2 from 3 in the circumstances is a great start to this year on top of an outstanding finish to last year, but with the injury toll situation as it is the luckiest coach to have a job in the NRL now has an automatic out clause so that regardless of how we perform for the remainder of this year , were gonna get stuck with him for another 2-3 years .
Just not sure where half a dozen games after 4 and a half seasons of rubbish warrant such a reward
Some poor old Wests & Balmain supporters who consider anything other than finishing with the wooden spoon as being a successful season ,need to raise their expecations..its a reasonably level playing field these days, the coaches call most of the shots,& are & should be accountable everywhere else ..just ask Stuart,Fittler,Taylor,Elliot ,Lang.Henjack et al.
But dont ask our messiah

Oh,& if were still wanting to reward him for 05,give him a blazer, but not another long term coaching :unamused: gig

success is not just on the paddock but off it or maybe you should support parra more your style that way you can change your coach weekly if they dont win a game…....

what about the years before 05 where we got the wooden spoon to being premiers?

he has built the club up to where we have players who stay with the Tigers because of him..

he goes we could have lost most of them and been back to square one

And Coach can only do so much.. Since when does the accountability not get directed towards the players. Afterall they are the ones who are out there playing, passing, tackling or missing, and kicking… not the coach..

wake up!!!

Yeah agree T Rexx. There are number of people here who want to throw rocks at Sheens and they have the right to do so. However, instead of just giving it to him, name someone who is better not just at coaching but who could have brought the rabble which he inherited together, after Lamb ?

I have no doubt, people will blame Sheens if the team gets beaten this weekend with a massive injury toll, I can see it now. Some people will come out of their self imposed excile to do so.

They only blame Sheens because they cannot handle the fact we lose games. Im proud of what Sheens has transformed our club into. Many many proud people have lead our clubs over the years and created little and delivered nothing. Al least Tim has vision created a dynasty for many years to come the day he does decide to move on it will be on his terms and we will then realise the positive legacy he willl leave behind.

Then all these so called supporters who attempt to kick Sheens in the guts will realise what Tim has done and will continue to do for our club.

Like I said previously would we rather be like parra changing coaches every couple of seasons, yep that brings stability NOT.

Wake up fans

Great post 05 Big Sheens fan myself and wonder what would of happened back in 03 Had we not got him Where would we be now They were dark days and I thought we would be back in the old days when we had 60 put on us every second week with our original sides . As far as I am concerned he has a contract as long as he wants as long as he meets set KPIs .

ive questioned tim's decisions in the past and thought its time for him to move on a few times. but id be happy if he stayed on. like people have said, he changed our club and is a brilliant thinker on the game. sometimes things dont come off but thats footy. there is no one around imo that would do a better job than tim for us, plus he has built this current team up again, so he should lead it to wherever it goes.

he knows and loves the club and if he stays, i wont be crying

As Ive said before,he did a good job dragging us from the bottom of the table(which exceeds some peoples modest expecattions),but that was over half a decade ago.
Some folk wld award him a job for life for this achievement which in the world of coaching is HISTORY(maybe they would have kept Harry Bath for a couple of decades on that rationale)
In the past 5 years, other than the finish to 2010, weve had a shocker,& he's the coach at the helm
He needs to deliver sustained results
NOW
(And to think we nearly had Craig Bellamy..)

Yeah, and look where that got Melbourne :unamused:

Cool story, bro.
