Tim Sheens' payout could cost Tigers up to $1.5 million

I thought at some stage in 2012 that Sheens said that if the Tigers didn't make the 8 he would walk.

That is a complete myth. That quote surfaced in 2010 and he said it after he had his contract extended till the end of 2011\. He said if they didn't make it by the end of '11 then he would step down, once his contract expired. We came off 2 consecutive top 4 finishes going into 2012, what motivation would he have to say that at that point, with a 3 yr contract in his pocket?

One would hope that the club has not just refused point blank to pay Sheens. If they did offer Sheens another position within the club and he has walked, I would presume he would not be entitled to anything.

Let's face it, both Sheens and the WT must have reasonable cases for it to be going to hearing in the Supreme Court. Cases just don't go straight to hearing, without first being mentioned before the court to adjudicate if both sides have a case. Especially civil matters in the Supreme Court.

People on here stating it is the tigers in the wrong, how do you know this? Instead of just saying something back it up with proof!

Joking or not pretty stupid thing to say I usually admire your posts but this is a ridiculous thing to say

Sorry probably in poor taste , but Sheens is just dragging us through the mud because no club is interested in him

He created the mess and now he wants us to pay for it

He not the brightest , what club is going to be interested in an NRL coach that sued its last club ??

Absolute dribble, but not at all surprising given your recent form.

Sheens is 100% entitled to the money.

The situation is the clubs fault, and proloning it and increasing the costs through a court case is their fault as well.

Whether you liked sheens as a coach or not is 100% irrelevant.

Totally agree that he is entitled to the money , but by dragging it through the courts I reckon he has shot any chance of another club taking him on

What so what happened in 2012 and 2013 performance wise isn't Sheens fault

It was his roster , and they were garbage performance wise

The reason the Tigers is refusing to pay is they want it to go to court and are hoping for a settlement

but by dragging it through the courts I reckon he has shot any chance of another club taking him on

I dont see the relevance of the two issues myself.

I dont think one affects the other in any way whatsoever

Would you hire someone who had just sued his previous employer ??

I sure as hell wouldn't , no matter what the circumstances

Anyway , why do you care ??

Weren't you the one who said he should honour his word about leaving the club if they didn't perform ??

No, I dont think I did
Dont you know?
You know everything else.

The only reason I wouldnt hire someone who's sueing his previous employer would be if I intended to sack him with money still owing

If you decided against hiring someone because they are fighting for what they rightly believe is theirs, then it says a lot about you.

Well seeing I know everything else why are you disagreeing ??

I think you'll find he's probably not looking for another job Happy… He's 64 now, and probably couldn't go another three or four year contract.

Whether or not someone will hire him probably does't bother him to much.

He's just securing his retirement nest egg.

That could be true , but he has said otherwise in the past and has done interviews with the Warriors and Canberra

No I don't think I did lol
Sounds like Barry's answer when asked about receiving the '59 bottle of Grange :unamused:

Legally, I'd imagine he'd have a leg to stand on and if so he's entitled to the money.

That said, I hope karma bites him on the arse for the players that got shafted under his tenure.

Errr you do know that doesnt make any sense.

Course it doesn't

Yeh I suspected mature convo was beyond you…why dont you go waste peoples time elsewhere?

Then explain to this immature redneck how it doesn't make sense Ink ??

You called me a know it all and I agreed and asked why are you are arguing with me if I'm always right and a know it all ??

Does that bring it far enough down to your level or would like me to add some pretty illustrations as well ??

I sure as hell wouldn't , no matter what the circumstances

I know you want to distence yourself as much as possible from these silly statements with your childish comebacks

Tell me why every time a struggling club with coach likely to be punted is discussed by the eperts on RL programs, when a suitable replacemnt is discuussed, Sheens name always comes up

Clubs would not even consider his leagl argument with us when considering his appt…....its a ridiculous proposition

Please tell us more....why wouldnt they touch him because of this?
The ARL dont seem to have any dramas

Eff him, make him show cause as to why he deserves full payment, not to mention the extra performance bonus BS he is claiming. Little doubt it will settle on the steps as the vast majority do.

Origin has not quite arrived guys, save a little hostility until then.
