Wests go 'back to the future'. Wise move. Sheens is the only person in the entity's 22 year history that has tasted success at the club. Fun fact, Sheens coached and gave Madge his playing debut at Canberra. 🐯

I didn’t follow rugby league very much when sheens was around what was the craziest thing he did in playing players out of position? Seems to come up all the time

Truth is that it’s a bit of a myth. Just like all coaches he had to manage within a salary cap and that meant when he had a lot of injuries, players would be played out of their natural position.

Happens all the time in the game. Look at some of Bellamy’s selections

It appears to be a position hat needed to be filled, I mean who was coordinating recruitment, pathways development, cap management etc? I’m not sure what Justin means though, when he calls the position “a floating role”? Does that mean Tim writes his own job description? Anyone got any ideas?

Great signing for the Tigers. There is not a better candidate for the position. Keeps the executive out of footy matters ie Pascoe & Lee and provides a senior support for coaches. Not many know Rugby League as well as Sheens and he is always an innovator. Inspired recruitment by the Tigers.

Madge was interviewed earlier this year and was asked about who were the biggest influences in his coaching career and he said that Sheens was. Madge said he has always stayed in close touch with Sheens to get advice.

I reckon they will work well together. There is obviously a lot or respect between the two.

It means they have hired him and said "do whatever you want but just remember we're backing Madge".

Which also probably means the first thing he has to do is go to Madge and say "what do you need from me?"
