Bugger that. Dump him like the trash he is. Sink or swim Timmy boy…you deserve to sink.

Yeah, just let him go the way of Ryan Tandy. Why not

Thats up to him.

Despite what he's done I hope he doesn't go and do something silly, but I think it's probably time his family rallied behind him and give him the help and support he needs.

I believe the club should distance themselves from him.

WT Statement Black
Wests Tigers support the decision by the NRL to terminate the registration of Tim Simona today.

The Club has been working with the NRL during their investigation and support the process.

Wests Tigers CEO Justin Pascoe said that the Club is incredibly disappointed in the actions of Simona and agree with the NRL’s decision.

“I fully support the comments of Todd Greenberg that the integrity of the game must be upheld above all else,” said Pascoe. “I believe it’s a privilege to work in this game and it’s the responsibility of everyone involved to uphold its integrity.

“As a Club we pride ourselves on our standards of behaviour and after discussions with the NRL, I’m 100 percent confident that this is isolated to Tim Simona.

“At Wests Tigers we are very proud of our position in the community,” he said. “We will not allow the actions of an individual player to jeopardise what this Club stands for and represents.

**“It will continue to be our responsibility to ensure that Simona receives the welfare support that he needs,” he said.**

The Club will be making no further comment on this matter.

This is just a real tragedy.

Simona wasn't top echelon yet, but he had the stuff of a classy centre.
He possessed real skill and speed. He was a solid defender and had a calm in-game temperament. He wasn't prone to glaring errors.

Which is why it is particularly ironic that despite him throwing games / letting in tries, he was very rarely made the scapegoat for losses (unlike many other players who tried their rings off).

The whole Tigers family (players, fans, sponsors etc) have not only been robbed of wins and potential finals football but perhaps worst of all we have been robbed of a bright future dynasty with the wonderful potential of Simona.

They say that to err is human but to forgive is divine. We are all victims of his cheating and the pain is very raw, so at this time I cannot forgive this human frailty. Maybe in time, but for now I am just too gutted.

I hope we never have anything to do with him anymore.

This BS about providing help and assistance to these type of undividuals is insulting. Help players who have had bad injuries or similar but to offer help and financial assistance to proven cheats, women bashers, criminals etc is insulting to everyone.

For the life of me I don't understand how someone like Simona or that grub Lodge can be allowed to put foot on a footy field again.

I feel for everyone who put two bob on the Tigers making the 8 last year. Criminal.

Now people are starting to feel sorry for Simona as if he is a victim. That'll do me. My sympathy is for people who actually deserve it.

Will go down in my mind as the lowest of the low.

Lower than players who intentionally seek to injure their opponents.
Lower than drug cheats.
Lower than those cap rorting storm players who signed two contracts.
Lower than those eels who took cash in paper bags.

If there was a way of erasing all record of his involvement with our great club, it should be done. His name is mud. Will forever live as the example kids should be told "don't be like him".

Such a shame.

Take his name down immediately from the players' wall at Concord that lists their WT number. Mosese was added as a mark of respect, Simona should be the exact opposite.

I can handle that he gambled on games, he should be rubbed out for it and some people do lose control of that aspect of their lives, addiction or no, it's no worse or sadder than the desperados at the casino trying to win their money back.

But to auction items for charity and retain the monies - I just can't believe someone of his position would do that. That's not just idiocy, that's pure and intentional fraud.

I'm glad it has been dealt with and he is gone. It's a shame that others who played for the club previously were never caught out and punished. I hope this goes a long way in changing attitudes of players and we end up with a squad who have the same ethics.

So I'm guessing in 2019 that Simona will be signing with the Roosters ??

Or Brisbane

By all accounts, some of his team mates are not surprised by this as I read somewhere they were concerned that Tim had gotten mixed up with a 'bad crowd' recently. Of course, he is old enough to take responsibility for his own actions, but peer pressure can be tough to ignore sometimes - just saying.

Who knows what has really happened and for how long, but it's very disappointing to know that he was deliberately throwing our matches - you just don't do that! Apart from his defensive weaknesses (and he is not alone there), I don't think it wasn't obvious to any of us, but I guess a mistake or two, at a crucial time in a game, could have cost us a finals place, but that's hard to say with any certainty.

Anyway, it's all done and dusted now and he's gone, thankfully. I guess Robbie's not looking so bad right now

Are you alluding to the fact that Brian Smith (player not coach) must've been on the take from 1991-1993 when he played for Balmain? I agree, no one could be that bad.

No matter how you look at this situation, there are no winners.

I hope Tim Simona gets the hope and support he requires to beat his demons and have a quality life.

I think you could argue that the WT are the winners out of this. The traitor within our ranks has been rooted out before he had an opportunity to sabotage our season.

All I will say it is not an isolated case it has happened in the past. Unfortunately for Simona he was caught out. I'm sick and tired of paying money to watch Prima donnas who don't give a shit about the fans sponsors or members. As if they don't get paid enough…. unfortunately today the game is worried about image... and all their decisions are reactive never ever proactive.....

I mean, there's nothing malicious there, so I don't think there should be any issues posting this -

Having said that the time stamps bar the last one are off-season.. Must be a long off season sometimes… :frowning:

I said that a week or two ago. Completely agree FTB.

He's disgraced himself and deliberately undermined the club and his team mates for personal gain. Wipe him from our history.

Wests Tigers 2016 - what could have been.

Did we turn over any coaching staff mid season / end of season last year? If so, do you think we would have moved them on if results were not influenced by Simona?

At the end of the day it's a messy situation but Wests win out twice over. We got a mole excised out of the club costing us games, and likely it will ease our cap situation this year.
